RESOLUTION NO. 43
A RESOLUTION TO COMPLETE AND ADOPT A STORM WATER
MANAGEMENT PLAN CONSISTENT WITH THE RICE CREEK WATERSHED
DISTRICT SECOND GENERATION PLAN
WHEREAS, the City of Arden Hills' 1998 Comprehensive Plan update was submitted to
the Metropolitan Council for review; and
WHEREAS, the Rice Creek Watershed District updated their water management plan in
1997, requiring all cities within the Watershed District to update their storm water
management plans by 1999; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has not adopted a storm water management plan to date;
and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council requires that the City complete and adopt a storm
water management plan to complete the review of the Comprehensive Plan; and

WHEREAS, the City received requests for qualifications on November 17,2000 and will
request proposals from the most qualified firms; and
WHEREAS, the City Council will choose to enter into a contract with the chosen firm by
their second regular meeting in February 2001; and
WHEREAS, the City Council will adopt a storm water management plan as a result of
this process by no later than December 31,200 I; and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council has asked that the City Council commit to a
process and a schedule for the completion of a water management plan so that the
Comprehensive Plan review may be completed.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Arden
Hills, Minnesota that the City Council commits to adopting a water management plan by
no later than December 31 , 2001.
