RESOLUTION NO. 71-28
VILLAGE OF ARDEN HILLS
COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
RESOLUTION MEMORIALIZING
WORTH G. READ, FIRST
TREASURER OF ARDEN HILLS .
WHEREAS, Worth G. Read was active in promoting the incor-
poration of the Village of Arden Hills in 1951, was elected as
the first Treasurer of Arden Hills upon its incorporation, was
regularly re-elected, and subsequently appointed as Treasurer
when the office became appointive, and served conscientiously
and capably in that position until his death on June 1, 1971, and
WHEREAS, in addition to his aforesaid services as Trea-
surer, Worth was a member of the Finance Committee of Arden
Hills for many years, including acting as Chairman of that
Committee at various times, and
WHEREAS, the Council of Arden Hills recognizes that the
services of Worth G. Read as aforesaid were rendered out of
his sense of civic responsibility and far exceeded in value the
compensation paid by the Village therefor,
NOW .THEREFORE, BE IT. RESOLVED that the Council of Arden
Bills, on its behalf and on behalf of all of the people of
Arden Hills, expresses its gratitude for the outstanding civic
services rendered this Village by Worth G. Read and extends
its sympathy to Mrs. Worth G. Read on her loss.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that an executed duplicate of
this Resolution be forwarded to Mrs. Read as a testimonial on
,
behalf of the Village of Arden Hills.
