RESOLUTION NO. /$-40
RESOLUTION REDUCING SANITARY SEWER
RATES AND WAIVING MINIMUM WATER ,CHAR-
GES FOR CERTAIN SENIOR AND DISABLED
CITIZENS
WHEREAS, the Village Council, at its general meeting
held on~~,S/,1972, by a motion duly made, seconded, and
passed,~did~~solve to reduce the charges for usage of the
Village sanitary sewer system and to waive the minimum char-
ges for usage of the Village water system (as required in
Ord. No. 103) where such charges are imposed upon property
owned or occupied by those of its citizens who are 65 years
of age or older or who are totally disabled within the mean-
ing of Social Security regulations, and
WHEREAS, the Village Council, at its general meeting
held on December 11, 1972, did pass two ordinances--Ord. No.
165 and Ord. No. l66--pertinent provisions of which made it
permissible for the Council to effectuate the aforesaid re-
duction and waiver by means of a Resolution, and
WHEREAS, the Village Council now desires to ratify and
confirm its action at its general meeting on~S~ 1972
and formally to implement said reduction an~waiv~r of charges
in accordance with the pertinent provisions of Ord. No. 165
and Ord. No. 166, '
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the
Village of Arden Hills that:
~l. The action taken by it at its general meeting held
on ,c ~ 1972 be and the same hereby is in all respects
ap roVed, ratified, and confirmed; and

2. Retroactively effective as of January 1, 1973, char-
ges ~~~~~e of the Village's sanitary sewer system and water
syste~ property,', " ~'_ . . ' occupied by a head
of the household who has established by affidavit, filed with
the Clerk-Administrator, that he is 65 years of age or older
or is totally disabled within the meaning of the Social Secur-
ity regulations be and they hereby are reduced in the case
of sanitary sewer charges to one-half (1/2) of the ordinary
rate and waived in the case of minimum charges for water usage.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk-Administrator be
and she hereby is authorized and directed to take all neces-
sary steps to implement this Resolution.
