WHEREAS, the Arden Hills City CouncIl at Its meeting on Apri I 25, 1977, declIned to adopt an ordinance establishing an industrial user strength charge, which was a model ordInance proposed for adoption by the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission In conjunction with a Joint Powers Agreement and Industrial contract, and WHEREAS, the Arden Hills City Council at Its meeting on June 27, 1977, opted not to pass an ordinance with a similar objective, drafted by Its City Attorney, because the City's existing Ordinance No. 49, as amended by Ordinance No. 195, permits the City Councl I, by Resolution, to Impose an Industrial strength user charge, and WHE REAS, the Arden H I I Is City Counc I I I s des i rous of coopera- ting with the MetropolItan Waste Control Commission In recovering Industrial user strength charges from Industrial users of the Metropoll~an Disposal System whose facilities are located within the boundaries of the City of Arden HI lis and to pay those charges over to the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Councl I of the City of Arden Hills that the City of Arden Hills wI II estab n sh an I ndustr I a I strength use r cha rge--by Reso I ut I on adopted by Its City Councl I--upon being informed by the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission the exact amount of such charge, or a basis by which such charge can be easily ascertained by City officials, which Resolution wi I I provide for the City's payment of the charges collected from the industrial users to the Metropolitan Waste Control Com~lsslon at Intervals reasonably convenient as determined by the City. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk-Administrator of the City of Arden HII Is Is hereby authorized and directed to provide the Metropolitan Waste Control Commission with a certified copy of this Resolution.
