RESOLUTION NO. 80-34
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN THE
NORTH SUBURBAN CABLE CO~NISSION AND
A~POINrING DIRECTOR AND ALTERNATE DIRECTOR
WHEREAS, ~he City of Arden Hilla is included in an appzoved
cable service territory whiCh includes nine other cities in the
major metl:'opolitan subul:'ban area, and

~~~azA3, recently amended Minnssota Statutes Section 238.08
Subd. 5, authozigss municipalities to delegate to a joint cable
commission thei it power toprepars, adopt, g'Zan t. administer and
enforce a cable franchise and to establish rates thereunder, and
WHEREAS, it is of the utmost importance for communities to
attempt to deal with the franchising process and witb subsequent
regulation of cable television in a manner best serving the
public interest, and
WHEREAS, by joint and cooperative sction with other cities
in the approved cable service territory, the City of Arden Hills
can share in the expense of the study of the franchiSing and
regulatory process, can develop a uniform approach to the matter
qf franchising, and can explore possibilities of joint and common
action on a permanent basis. and
WHEREAS, the City of Arden Hills deems it proper and in tbe
public interest to enter into a Joint and Cooperative Agreement
presented at this meeting and attached hereto and made a part
bereof.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the
City of Arden Hills as follows:
1. That the City of Arden Hills participate in tbe
North Suburban Cable Commission.
2. Thst tbe appropriate official execute the Joint
and Cooperative Agreement and file it with the
City Maneger of the City of Roeeville.

3. That the City of Arden Hille appoint aa ita
Director to represent it on the JointCol!llllis-
sion, James Wingert , who resides

4. That the City of Arden Hills appoint sa an alter-
nate Director, Mrs. Charlotte McNlesh , who
resides at 3447 Siems Court, Arden Hills, MN 55112,
and that said individual's neme, address and phone
number be filed with the City Manager of the City
of Roseville.
Adopted this 14tb day of July, 1980, by the governing body
of the City of Arden Hills.
