RESOLUTION NO. 79-53
RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING THE CABLE
COMMUNICATION CITIZEN ADVISORY COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, the City Council gf the City of Arden
Bills is the official governing body of the City of Arden
Bills empowered to provide for the public, health, safety,
and welfare of its citizen; aud

WHEREAS. the City Council recognizes the need for
a citizen advisory body. to advise the Council on certain'
matters relating to frsnchieing a cable communications system;

A. Establishment of th@ Committee.

1. That a committee, whiCh ehall be named Ceble Commun-
'ication Citizen Advisory Committee, shali be established
to advise the City Council in relstion to certain aspects
of franchising a cable communications system in ehe City
of Arden Hills. '

2. T~at the committee be composed of~five (5) members.
The term o~ the appointments shall be the leu3tlb,of'"
tbe franchising process.

3. Tbat tbe committee shall be composed of members who
shall be residents of the City of Arden Bills.

4. Tbat the members shall serve without compensation and
may be removsd from office at any time by tbe City
Council.

B. Dutiea'of the Committee. The Committee 1s hereby directed
,to advise the City Council aad to:
1. Research federal and state rules and regulations relating
to cable communications;
2. Fam1liari~e'themoeives with curreat and potential services
being offered ~y cable communications compsnies;
3. Assess communications needs in the community.
4. Recommend to the City Council if a need bas been
determined, to proceed wi~b the franch1si~g process.
The recolDlDendation may be in the form of an invitation
for applications for the franchise.
C. Scope of Authority
l. That the committee shall be advisory to and subject
to tbe direction and control of tbe City Council;
however. tbe committee may establish its own rules
snd regulations guidiug the cOlllductand operation of
the committee and its members within ite respous:l.bilil:ies

amendment of ReSOlution No, 79-53, Resolution Establishing Cable
~@ CommunIcation Citizen Advisory Committee, to read "not less than

Mayor Crepeau. Motion carried unanimously.
