APPOINTMENT OF ACTING MAYOR FOR 1994
MOTION:
Mayor Sather explained that past practice has been
to rotate the duty of Acting Mayor each year. As
Councilmember Probst was appointed to the council
in 1993, Mayor Sather recommends approval of
Councilmember Probst as Acting Mayor for 1994.
Malone moved, seconded by Hicks to appoint
Councilmember Dennis Probst as Acting Mayor for
1994. Motion carried unanimously (5-0).
APPOINTMENT OF COUNCIL COMMITTEE LIAISONS FOR 1994
Mayor Sather commented that a great number of the
committee members have been involved with the same
committee for many years, and perhaps it would be
more beneficial in approaching these members and
suggesting they serve on a different committee.

Arden Hills Special Council Meeting
3
January 3, 1994
Mayor Sather further stated he has no definite
suggestions at this time, and perhaps the Council
could discuss further at the January 20
worksession. Mayor Sather stated he is certain
there would be new enthusiasm and energy with some
positive changes. He further commented that these
committee members might not be utilizing their
talents to the best of their ability in their
current committee.
Councilmember Aplikowski commented that various
committees will be meeting in January before the
worksession and the timing is off to suggest
changes at this time.
Councilmember Probst commented that Council is not
dictating which committee a member should serve
on, however, members should take a proactive
approach to view all aspects of the city.
Mayor Sather recommended that liaison appointments
to various City committees and commissions, as
well as, committee appointments, should remain the
same as in 1993 until a further review is
conducted.
MOTJ:ON:
Malone moved, seconded by Hicks, to approve and
ratify that all Council Committee Liaisons,
Chairpersons and Representatives for 1994 remain
the same as in 1993. Motion carried unanimously
(5-0).
