BUSINESS FROM THE FLOOR Addition to McGuire's - Case No. 66-24 Trustee Hoffmann moved, seconded by Trustee Olman, that ~ 35 v. 72 f% addition to the east end of McGuire's Supper Club be app~oved BS per ths plans submitted to the Planning Commission on August 2, 1966; subject to approval of the Village Building Inspector~ State Fire Marsha!1 onJ the State Board of Health; motion carried. Rodent Problem David Yepma, 4704 Hlghwav 8, thanked Trustee Hoffmann for checkIng over the area bscause of a rat prob I em be II eved tp be )'11", reslJ It of the b IJ rn- Ing of the Ne~ Brighton dump. Trustee Hoffmann reported that he did visit the area and disagreed with the New Brighton exterminator's opinion that this ares of Arden HIlls Is conducive to rat breeding; he stated that he .found the premises most orderly and there definItely Is a problem. How- ever, he stated the 'I' there Is 8 building adJacent to the Yopma property which he believes should be demolIshed BS he believes that this could be a hiding place for the rats. Mr. Yepma Informed the CouncIl that this buIlding Is owned by the o~ners of the nearby root beer stand. ActIng Mayor Crepeau Informed theresldants that a latter, dated August 5, 1966, ~as ~rltten to the New Brighton Councl! requesting remedial aco~lon regarding the rat problem and also a gas problem orIginating from this dump; a reply had been received from the Village Manager stating thot they are aware of the problems and will attempt to. correct It. Mr. PertY!(/1 stated that he has lived In this area for 15 years ~11t'lout seeing a rat but has. recently caught two of t~em. and the breedIng grounds must be controlled. trustee Hoffmann recommended that the owner of the prevlouslv mentIoned building be notified ~fthe situation, and We should get con'Irmatlon from New Brighton that no garbage Is being dumped at the NSl~ Brlghto11 .dump; he recommended that both metters be referr~d to the VIllage Health Officer. Mrs. Robert Mulroy, 2037 Mounds Avenue, Informed the COMncl1 that she . was present at o~he Naw Br I ghton Counc I I m0et 10.9 of I CISt Tuesday and p resent- -- ed the rat problem and a'so showed them pictures of the remains of rats found In the area. She stated that the New~rlghton Council did not deny thet garbage was being dumped there and she has' proof that three trucks from the cities dump garbage at this site ....sometlmes sol" 2:00 a.m. Mrs. Mulroy Informed the council that the letter from Arden Hills was noy rsad at the New Brighton CouncIl meetIng. A!:tlng May.or Crepeau stated 'thet perhaps Dr.. WHEREAS, the assessment roll for Sanitary Sewer Dmprovement No. 1 as last finally amended and adopted on September 9, 1960, was filed and certified to the COWlty Auditor of Ramsey COWlty on OCtober 26, 1960, for the purpose of including installments thereof to be collected along with real estat.e taxes commencing in 1961, and . WHEREAS, a hearing on supplemental assessments, reassessments, and apportionment of previous assessments in respect. to Sanit.ary Sewer Improvement. No.1 was held on August 3, 1961, at which t.ime assessments for Sanitary Sewer Improvement No.1 were amended as provided by said resolut.ion of said date and certified and filed in.
