~ot boen tested and he could not detect anythIng by tast~. He
recommended to Mr. Salltros that he have the water tested by e r.-

Tho Council agreed with Mr. West9s opln!ons and recommendatIons Gnd
requested Clerk Lorraine Stromquist to Inform Mr. Salltros by tettor

ReQuest for Sewer ConnectIon Time Extension

Mr. Victor Pomerenke. Johanna Realty Co.. Introduced Mr. David
Kublatowlcz. potentIal buyer of 2 acres iocated ~est of Snelling Ave.
and south of the Soo ilne.tracks. on which Is Ooc~ted a small house -
designated as 1543 Oak Avenue. Mr. Kublatowlcz Intends to live In
the ex!stlng dwelling and to construct a permanent home at a latsr
date. He stated that the present facilities are adequate end requested
a variance be granted to allo~ him to continue the use of these
facll!tles and not be forced to connect to the sanitary sewer system.
E~9r. Lund Informed the Council that a connectIon Is posslbge as a
nyn was Instal~ed, but there Is no service to the boulev~rd and the
existing structure Is high enough to be servUced. Un response to
Mr. Kublatoulcz' comment that the proposed ne~ house mlght be located
8o~er than the present one, Engr. Lund recommended that It aouRd be
to his advantage to build on a site of su'flctlent height to enabl. the
home to be serv8ced.
Trustee Crepeau moved. seconded by Trustee O~rnen, that Mr. KublatowOcz
be granted an extension of tJwe to connect to the sanitary sewer system
until December. 1967: motlc~ carried.

agreed that the permit tee shall be $50.00 for each 15,Ofi square teet

Engineer Lund submItted a map showing a proposed layout for a proposed
service road parallel to and south of County Road E frem Hay. 51 to
Lexington Avenue. He suggested that the Vlila@e requBst the State
to consIder buIlding thIs road as a saf~ty factor.
Atty. Courtney recommended tryIng t9u~:tlate wIth the land Dane,s
since there are so few Involved and~"ot much developed at thIs tlce.

Engr. Lund submItted submItted three proposed layouts yor ~mprovlng
the VIllage HaR~ parking lot. He stated that the present size ~s
100' x 125' - estImated cost of the ~mprovement - about $3,080. ~t
~as determined that the V~llage actualiy owns a larger area than shown
on the proposed layout.
Clerk submitted to Engr. Lund material regarding the Village Hail
property to enable him to get the correct area and also to place mora
InformatIon on the drawing.
New BrlQhton Road DralnaQe Matter
Trustee Olmen Informed the Council of a drainage matter on the VIctor
Wold property at 3655 Neu Brighton Road, which the owner beBleves is
caused by the drainage system Installed by New Brighton. Matter
referred to Engr. Lund.

Trustee Hoffmann Informed the Council that a report on the sIgnals

Petition for Traffic Control
Trustee Crepeau reported that a petItIon ~as received wIth more than
20 sIgnatures requesting a thru stop s!gn ~t Glenvlaw Avenue and
Glenvle~ Court. Trustee Crepeau recommended tnat two signs be In-
stailed - one on each road. The Council agreed w~th Trustee Crepeau's
recommendation and authorized ~red Nixon to obteln and Install the
signs accordIng to Officer Sexton's directIon.

Trustee BJorndahl reported the grading work at th~s playground Is

Red Fox Road
Bob McN~esh reported for the Public Works Committee and Informed thEl
Council of a meeting held July 21 with the County regar~lng the County
acqulr!ng Red Fox Roed. He Informed the Council the VI I lagB .!~~
receive a letter from the County outlining the requirements under ~hlch
the County wi I I accept Red Fox Road. He stated thet the recently
prepared Public Works proposed budget for 1967 does not Include funds
for the Improvement of Red Fox Road.

PubHlc Works Committee Meetlnq
Bob McN!esh reported that the proposed Pub~lc Wo~ks bUdgeT request
for 1967 has been prepared and amounts to $4~,OOO. A copy of the
proposed budget has been attached to the minutes of this meeting Dnd
distributed to the Council members.
He stated that conslder~t~on Is being given to equipment storage 8nd
the Committee ~!I! give more study to tUme cards and rsccrd keeping.
in rep~y to an Inquiry from Trustee Olmen, the Councl~ determined thet
payment for eng!neerlng studies, such as Red Fox Road p!~ns. which
are referred to Banister Engineering Co.. should be considered and
taken from the Planning Commission budget.

The matter of damage to the Lambros res!dBnce at 3213 Rldge.ood Read
as a result or water lavels was tabled until the meetrn~ of Aug. 15
and ref~rrGd to Trustee Olmen.

Metro Affa!rs Committee
Mayor Nethercut Informed the Council 01 a meeting to be held on Aug. 3
at the Unlversnty of Minnesota by the League of Minn. Munlclpaflltles
regarding the formation of a Metro Section. Before formation of the
Section, 25 municipalities within the 7 countIes, including the Twin
Cities. must be w!lllng to Join.
Cost of Joln!ng has not been computed as of this dat~.

as of Aug. I, 1966; seconded by Trustee Hoffmann; motion carried.

Mayor Nethercut requested Clerk LorraAne Stromquist to contact Mrs.
Schiller. Village Publicity Coordinator. to compose an artlcie on
the completion of the lower portion of the pedestrian tral~. which
Is already remporarlly staked.
Trustee BJorndahl Inquired as to how to pr.ohlb!t motorl,zed vehicles
from using the trail. Trustee Crepeau stat~d that an OrdInance should
