. RESOLUTION RE DUTIES OF ]?{)LICE OFFICERS
RESOLVED, that police officers employed by the Village of Arden Hills
shall perform such police duties as may be required of them by the Chief of
Police of Arden Hills, and shall be subject to the general supervision and
direction of the Chief of Police at all times.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that in general the duties of the police officers
of the Village of Arden Hills shall consist primarily of patrol work upon the
streets of Arden Hills and such additional outside police work as may be
required from time to time in connection with keeping the peace in Arden Hills,
but shall also include such emergency police services as may be required in
neighboring communit~es. Police duties shall also include such minor desk
work, such as preparation of reports, as may be necessary from time to time,
but such duties shall be incidental to the main police functions hereinbefore
described, and no police officer shall be given the duties normally assigned
,
to a desk sergeant or radio dispatcher as is done, for example, in the City
of Saint Paul police force.

. Gentlemen:
This is to notify you that Control Data Corporation has exercised its option to
purchase a tract of land located near the intersection of County Road "F" and
Lexington Avenue snd described as follows:
"The East one-half (E ~) of the Southeast quarter (SE \) of
Section Twenty-two (22), Township Thirty (30), Range Twenty-
three (23), except thst part thereof heretofore conveyed to
St, Croix Falls Minnesota Improvement Company, and except or
subject to roads and right of ways designated as County Road F,
Lexington Avenue, and Highway 51, and except a square ten
acre tract in the Southeast (SE) corner thereof being six
hundred sixty (660) feet by six hundred sixty (660) feet,
having equal frontage on County Road F snd Lexington Avenue."
Said notice of intent to purchase was delivered to the owners of record on
October 19, 1962. Final papers are now in preparation and it is estimsted that
the purchase will be consUlIIIll8ted within two weeks.
It is requested that the Arden Hills Village Council take the necessary action
to rezone subject property in accordance with Control Data's planned usage. We
respectfully urge that this action be taken st the next regularly scheduled
meeting of the council, so that Control Data can proceed with building plans
snd construction as soon as possible.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NUMBER 18, THE ZONING ORDINANCE, TO REZONE
TO LIGHT INDUSTRY CERTAIN l'ROl'ERTY A:I: OR NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF LEXINGTON
AVENUE AND COUNTY ROAD F.
. The Village Council of the Village of Arden Hills does hereby ordain
as follows:
Section 1. Ordinance number 18, known as the Zoning Ordinance, is

. hereby amended to zone the following described property from Rl to light
industrial. The entire area so rezoned is described as follows, to-wit:
The East one-half (E~) of the Southeast Quarter (SEt~ Section
Twenty rwo (22), Township Thirty (30), Range Twenty (Zj),
except that partheretofore conveyed to the St. Croix Falls Minne-
sota Improvement Company and except or subject to roads and
right of ways designated as County Road F, Lexington Avenue and
Highway 51, and except a square ten (10) acre tract in the
Southeast corner thereof being Six Rundred Sixty (660) feet by
Six Hundred Sixty (660) feet having equal frontage on County Road
F and Lexington Avenue.
Section 2. The Zoning Map of the Village of Arden Hills referred to
in the aforesaid Ordinance Number 18 shall not be republished to show the
aforesaid rezoning, but the Clerk shall appropriately mark the Zoning Map on
file in the Clerk's office for the purpose of substantially indicating this
rezoning.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be published in the official Village
newspaper, and shall be effective from and after its passage and publication.
