The Village i.:;ngineer noted tha t trle front footage of Lots 2. :3 and '4 of Bleck 1 \7ere less than the 95' required, and, a lso. the cul de SIlC radius and the roadway was 50' instead of the required 60'. Minutes of Regular Council Meeting Village of Arden Hllls Jp.ly 9, 1962 The meeting was called .GO order at 8 :00 p.m. by l,!ayor Ashbach. Roll Callg Present - Mayor Ashbachc Trustees Crepeau. Kennedy. and Olmen. Clerk Lorraine stromquist. Absen'b = None The minutes of the regular council meeting of June 25. 1962. were approved as amended. Arden Propertiesc Inc. A1'ter counc11 d1scussion of the matter it w as agreed that appro= val of building plans for proposed bowling lanes to be constructed by Arden properties. Inc. be withheld until new road as shown on plans is constructed because the new building will be located on the road presently giving access to Arden Lumber Mart. Robert Kerr. Chairman of Land Use Committee stated he would re= commend a meeting to be held between council. his committee. and the land owners of the general area of Hemline and County Road E to try to encourage good long range planning for this valuable area of cornrr~roially zoned property. Council agreed to this and a meeting will be set up in the near future. Public Works = Trustee Olmen Mr. Olrnen reported that a fence has been installed at Little Johanna Lake dU.e to a high water s i tua tion there. 1~. OImen stated that drainage problem at 1946 Glenview has not been solved yet and he will check with village attorney as to whether or not the problem is a village responsibility. Council requested Clerk to inquire of village attorney if weed cutting on village sewer and road easments is the responsibility of the village. Council requested Clerk to check with engineer on the sei~er. ino stallation problem caused by Ray Perron at the Edw. Fyten resio dence at 1137 Laxington Ave. to see if the cave-in was filled in by Perron. Fred Nixon, street maintenance department, stated the site has again caved in. Zonin~ & Recreation = Trustee Kennedy Kenne y reported there is some con1'usion among village residents as to how much garbage and rubbish the licensed haulers. will pick up and of the rates oharged. Council requested Clark to invite licensed haulers to meeting of July 30,1962 to answer questions to clear up the confusion. Kennedy to contact residents interested in attending meeting. Fred Nixon was authorized by Council to fill some small potholes bear playground at County Road F and Highway 10. Public Safety - Trustee crepeau MotIon by crepeau, seconded by Olmen that Attorney Courtney draw up amendment to village liquor licensing ordinance to provide closing hours for sale of off-sale liquor to confoi'm w;;..th Minnesota state law. " " A meeting is to be held between the Lake Johanna Volunteer Fire Department and the three participating Villages of Arden HillsD Shoreviaw and North Oftks to discuss financing of fire protection. , , Trustee OImen was re~ested by Council to study ordinances of neighboring villages regarding maintenanoe of village road signs and report ~ack to coupcil on the matter.
