were social events.
Mr. Courtney stated that the Ericksons business is listed in the
telephone dIrectory and he has heard that the Ericksons hElve con=
verted part of their garage into an office and Sales meetinGS with
many people in attendance are held at this residence.
Trustee Kennedy stated the Council has received seweral complaints
dUl'ing the last two years concerning the business conducted at
this address.

moven that the second reading be given of an ordinance amending Ordin-
ance No~ 10. relating to installation of gas equipment by Northern
States Power Co. to specify the necessary road repairs caused by such
gas installation or relocation or repairs as revised. seconded by

Drainage Problems
Mr. ~eterson. 1112 Carlton Drive, complained of sewage draining on
his property - Referred to Trustee Crepeau.
Mr. Shult. 3500 Glenarden Roqd, stated that water is still draining
onto his driveway - no cOI'recti ve a ction has been taken. ~ir. Odland
stated that this location is on their schedule.

ion changed the flow of water from draining on gdgwwater to flowing ove
to Jensen and across his property - referred to Village hngineer.

Glenarden Road. dated June 8, 1902. in which she complained of a
water problem at tlw corner of Hamline Ave.. Skiles Lane and Glen=
arden Road = referred to Villar,e Enp.ineer.

1IIr. l"ranols idersohied, 3197 Jensen, informed the Council that
the Norman Richards' residenoe on Edgewater does not have inside
sewage faoillties and this oondition is a nuisance = referred to
Trustee Crepeau.
Sewer Connection Problem - Orton propert~
John ~e.LLey, 40~9 l'alrvlew Ave.. informe the Counoil that the
existing sewer line off Valentine Aven e in Sewer Improvement #4
is too high to conneot to his property. Referred to Villa~e Atty.
to oonver with Village Engineer and Mayor Ashbach on a possible
easeaent over the Thomas property which appears to be the only
solutiono

Dr. HOUle, l703 Valentine Ave., presented a proposed plat to the

to the Liquor Ordinance changing the closing time regarding holi=

Request for Roseville Sewer Connections
Village Atty. was contacted bYithe Roseville Village Atty., Mi'. Bellp
requesting consideration of Sanitary sewer connection onWildel' Ave.
(Rosaville) to the Arden Hills system. The Council also received
a letter, dated June 11, 1962, trOD Richard Turnlund. Roseville
VUlage Administra toX', with the sa~,e request. Referred to Village
Engineer.

Atty. Sal.Iand infoX'med Trvstee C:epe'lu by letter suggesting 'that
drivers charged with driving under the influenoe of intoxicating
beverage be given sobriety tests.

Proposed Revised Zoning Oidinattoe
Attyo Courtney euggested n a letter. dated May 31. 1962. that
the Council consider an over-all revision of the Zoning Ordinanoe.
using Bva1lable material ~om the League of Minnesota MuniCipalities.
The Council requested Attyo Courtney to draft a proposed new Zoning
ordinance. which would possibly be reedy in July.
SCHOONOVER PROPERfY

Trustee KennedI's Report

Trus ee Aennedy reported that tne cost or stabilizing the ditch on
the North end of the plaYfrou1d would cost $10,000, with the eost
being paid 60% by the Villare and 40% by the County. The Council
recommended a temporary solution. Trustee Kennedy also reported
that the parking facilities were satisfactory at this t1.ie.
Trustee Aennedy info~ed the Council that the present drainage
prOblem is caused from private property, and WaS requested by the
Council to check with the property owners about filling in by the
Village ~.
Trus tee Olmen
Lift Station Fower Failure
Trustee Olmen reported that during the recent storms there was
power failure affectinr the lift stations ~ blowing fuses. He
informed the Council that extra fuses have been placed in the
storage building, acoessible.to the ~intenance and police de=
partments.
Clerk Lorraine Stromquist's Report
Sewer I,n~roveJ).ent 1/2, Change Order #2
Trustee ennedy moved the approval or a change order of installing
underground 3-phase service to lift station at Presbyterian Home
in lieu of overhead service for a total cost of ~p28948 00. seconded
by Trustee Olmen . motion carried.
Shoreview-Arden Hills Drainage Problem
Clerk Lorra1ne stromqu1st read a letter, nated JUle 79 1962 from
Mr. Carley, Shoreview Engineer, requesting a date for a joint
meeting rerarding the dr4inage problem at Lexington Ave. and Inger=
son ROnd .. referred to Clerk.

Siems Court - Buried Telephone Cable Request
Clerk Lorra1ne Stramqu1st-read a letter rrom Bnnister ~nglneering
Co. su~gesting changes in an application for a request by the North-
west Bell Telephone Co. to place, construct and, thereafter, main-
tain a buried telephone cable in Siems Court as shown on an attached
map. Banister Engineering Co. changes drawn on the said mapQ
Trustee ~ennedy moved a,proval subject to approval by Atty. Courtney
and on the condition tPst the area be replaced to its or~ginal
status, and consideration be given to existing trees, etc. -
seconded by Clerk Lorraine Stromquist - motion carried. Referred
to Clerk to so inform Northwestern Dell Telephone Co.
Storm Sewer S~udy COillmission
Clerk Lorraine Stromquist info~ed the Council that Banister
Engineering Co. has agreed to attend as many meetings of the
Ramsey County League of Municipalities on the above subject as
are necessary, limiting the charge to the Village to 2 or fi 3
meetings.
Municipal Court Meetinf
Trustee Olmen and poss bly Trustee Crepeau offered to attend a
meeting scheduled by Mr. Boog. Deputy Clerk of Mounds View, for
June 14, at 8 p.m. at the Mounds View Village Hall on the study
of a municipal co\U"t.
G'Arden Seed end Weed Club Donation
The above garden olub .pledged a donation of $50.00 s~ggesting it
to be used toward the financing of a planter box constructed
around the sign post at the Village Hall. Town & Country Sign Co
estimated the cost at $70.00. the Council agreed to supplement the
dona tion with $20.00. Clerk requested to Bend "Thank you" note.

The Vi~lage Clerk infbrmed tne Council that the Presbyterian Homes
is tax exempt according to the County Assessor's Offics.

Mr. Jack stad~er, Bureau or valuations, St. Pau~. requested inform~
iDg the Council of a change from residential to commercial for
sewer rental charge. because of the business conducted from this
residence - CouDcil agreed.
take shore Plaoe Repairs
Clerk Lorraine Stromqu!~ t informed the Council of complaints from
the residents on Lakeshore Place concerning the condition of the
street. Trustee Olmen stated that this street is in need of a
complete repair job. An estillste has been received for this work.

Proposed Time Cards

from Mat'vin Brur.sell. but believed this form not suitable for

Clerk Lorraine Stromquist presented the Council members with a
copy of the Dudget Rpport through Mayo including a proposed
tr~nsfer of $4,000 00 from unappropriated surplus to the snow
plowing and sanding aooounto
