The meeting was called to order at 8 : 00 a.m. 2 . Present were Tom Goblirsch, Steve Freimuth, Mary Miller, Terry Nagle, City Administrator, Brian Fritsinger. Absent were Dan McCallum, Arnold Lindberg, Rob Carlson Jr. and Ray McGraw. 3 . Monthly Report Staff provided an update of the past months activities including Dynamark, Everest, Amoco and TCAAP . The Committee also discussed recent legislative activities which may affect the economic development efforts of the City. 4 . Marketing Packet • The Committee reviewed the proposal from the Nancekivell Group . The Committee was concerned about the cost of approximately $6000 . Because the Nancekivell ' s are out of town for several weeks it is difficult to follow up with questions . The Committee discussed the probability of other firms bidding on the work. The Nancekivell ' s proposal was a higher quality product much different than that being discussed by the Economic Development Committee . The Committee indicated for the cost, the Mounds View approach was adequate for Arden Hills . The key is to have a document available to provide interested parties . Terry Nagle will contact Brian with a list of other firms or individuals who may be able to assist the City. 5 . The next meeting is scheduled for March 16 , 1995 . This meeting may be rescheduled to accommodate better attendance . • 6 . Meeting adjourned at 9 : 10 am. This program is critical to the success of any local economic development program. The Committee should review this program and discuss some of the following issues: 1. Makeup of participants 2. Number of businesses contacted by letter 3. Member of businesses to be personally visited • 4. Type of questions to ask business 5. Ogren Townhomes Applicant has proposed an 18 unit townhome project on the northwest corner of County Road E2 and Old Hwy #10. The local neighborhood has expressed its opposition to this project. 111 2. Amoco Expansion project is still on hold due to access easement problems. 3. Everest The Council provided Everest with its bottom line on assistance for this project. No answer has been given. 4. Control Data Staff met with Control Data to review the company's long term plans. The company has moved all corporate offices to Arden Hills and the facility is now 100% office. The company is leasing out portions of the building to other businesses. 5. Dynamark Dynamark will be presenting a site plan for a 32,000 square foot building on the Control Data property. The developer, CSM, has plans for an additional 32,000 square foot building in the near future. 6. Ramada The Ramada has received approval for its transition to a Holiday Inn. 7.
