REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Mayor Beverly Aplikowski called to order the
regular City Council meeting at 5:05 p,m,
Present:
Mayor Beverly Aplikowski, Councilmembers Gregg Larson, David Grant,
and Vincent Pellegrin.
Absent:
Councilmember Brenda Holden
Also present were City Administrator, Michelle Wolfe; Chief Finance Officer/Treasurer,
Murtuza Siddiqui; Community Development Director, Karen Barton; and Assistant City
Administrator, Schawn Johnson;
1. APPROVAL OF MEETING AGENDA
Councilmember Grant requested that item 3(D) be pulled from the Consent Calendar,
MOTION: Councilmember Larson moved and Councilmember Grant seconded a
motion to approve the meeting agenda as amended, The motion carried
(4-0),
2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES
. No minutes were approved at this meeting,
3. CONSENT CALENDAR

Approve Resolution 06-33: Not Supporting the US Senate and House of
Representatives Telecommunications Bill
Motion to Authorize Staff to Contract with Wiss, Janney, Elstner Assoc, (WJE) for
$25,294 to Perform Additional Structure Inspections at City Hall,

Motion to Approve the Replacement of ABS Pump for Lift Station #3
Claims and Payroll-Pulled
MOTION: Councilmember Larson moved and Councilmember Pellegrin seconded a
motion to approve the Consent Calendar and to authorize execution of all
necessary documents contained therein, The motion carried (4-0),
4. PULLED CONSENT ITEMS
Item 3D-Claims and Payroll
Councilmember Grant noted that the goose removal has been a contentious issue with the City
Council in the past. He does not agree with this expense and believes that the lake associations
should be responsible for geese removal.
Councilmember Larson said that the ducks and geese are a persistent problem for the area lakes,
It is a small fee for the City to pay for alleviating this problem, Tony Schmidt Park is a Ramsey
County park, but a number of Arden Hills residents use the park on a regular basis,
Councilmember Grant stated that the Lake Johanna beach club should be paying for this service,
Also, the geese removal process may be ineffective in controlling the migratory practices ofthese
birds,

Councilmember Larson noted that until the geese removal project began, there were many geese
that flocked to the park on a regular basis,
MOTION; Councilmember Larson moved and Councilmember Pellegrin seconded a
motion to approve Consent Calendar agenda item 3D-Claims and Payroll.
The motion carried (3-1 Grant),

MOTION: Councilmember Larson moved and Councilmember Grant seconded a
motion to adjourn to the regular City Council meeting, The motion carried
(4-0),
Mayor Aplikowski adjourned the Regular City Council Meeting meeting at 5: 15 p,m,
