SUMMARY ORDINANCE NO. 2024-005
CITY OF ARDEN HILLS
RAMSEY COUNTY, MINNESOTA
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 9—BUILDING REGULATIONS,BY
AMENDING SECTION 900—ADOPTION OF THE MINNESOTA BUILDING CODE,
AMENDING SECTION 910—SWIMMING POOLS,AND
ADDING A NEW SECTION 920—ZONING PERMIT REGULATIONS
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, on June 24, 2024, Ordinance No. 2024-005 was
adopted by the City Council of the City of Arden Hills, Minnesota.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that, because of the lengthy nature of Ordinance No.
2024-005, the following summary of the ordinance has been prepared for publication.
NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the ordinance adopted by the City Council amends
or adds the following:
• The title of Chapter 9 is changed to Permit and License Regulations;
• Section 900 is amended to
o update cross-references to Minnesota Statutes and Minnesota Rules,
o update language related to the payment of building permit fees,
o strike Section 900.02A
o clarify the optional sections of the Minnesota State Building Code that are adopted
by the City, and
o repeal the existing Section 900.06, and replace it with provisions related to
Plumbing, plans and specifications, and inspections;
• Section 910 related to swimming pools is amended to
o require conformance with the City Code in addition to applicable sections of the
Minnesota State Building Code(Sections 910.06 and 910.07),
o require a conditional use permit rather than a special use permit (Section 910.08),
and
o cross reference the City fee schedule (Section 910.10); and
• A new section is added, namely Section 920 — Zoning Permit Regulations, including
provisions related to application, administration, and zoning, permits and fees, and types
of zoning permits.

regular office hours at the City of Arden Hills, 1245 West Highway 96, Arden Hills, MN 55112.
