Held in the. ~wn Hall, ~u.rsday, December 6, 1951
'.!he meeting wail called to order by Mayor Cummings.
Cummings, McClung, 1lack, and Doepner present at the roll call,
. DeLange absent.
llinutes of the regular meeting held November 26th were approved
as read by the Clerk.
(DeLange arrived at this point.)

Public Safety: Cummings moved and McClung seconded a motion, which
was carried, that the Clerk write both constables (al that their gas allowance
established at Don's Gorner is rescinded as of this date, (b) that the sirens
be returned to IIlr. Graffunder, member of the Public Safety Committee, for dis-
position *0 be determined by the council, and (c) that the council's permission
to equip their cars wi th red lights is rescinded, the Clerk to also notifY Don's
Corner that the gas credit has been discontinued.
CLUl,S: Mack moved and DeLange seconded a motion to approve the
following claims for payment, and the motion was carried:

CANVASSING BO.ABD: Th.e Clerk read ".Tally Book and Returns," "Minutes of
the Village Election," "Summary Statement of. Votes," of the annual election held
December 4th, which showed the following:
Cl'otal vot es cast: 57
. For mayor, Walter Cummings, incumbent, 54; Ralph W. Hunt (write-in) 2
For treasurer, Worth G. Read, incumbent unopposed, 54
For constable, Herbert Winkel, incumbent unopposed, 52
For justice of the p6ace~ Frank~. Schmitt, incumbent unopposed, 50
For trustee, for a term of 3 years, Walter '1'. ~;ack, incumbent unopposed, 52.
On the question of paying the mayor a salary of $12.50 a month, and each
of'the three trustees $10.00 a month, effective Jan. 2, 1952, a total of 57 votes
were cast, for each, 47 for each question, and 10 against each question. By
motion of llIcClung, seconded by Delange, the council as canvassing board unanimously
appr oved the returns declaring Walter Cummings elected mayor, Worth G. Read
4.5
elected treasurer, Herbert Winkel elected constable, Frank~. Schmitt elected
justice of the peace, each for a two-year term expiring the first business day
of Jannary, 19.54, and yTa1 ter T. Mack elected trustee for a three-year tel'Dl ex-
piring on the first business day in Jannary, 19.5.5.
STANDING GOThlMITrEE REPORTS, contixmed:
Public Welfare: Chairman VcGilung had nothing to report.
. BABIES PROCL&IU.TION: The Clerk read a letter dated November 29 from the
Live stock Sanitary Board discontinuing the rabies proclamation.
RAl,:SEY COUHTY PIAlrc;nm COlvThiIIS3ION: The Clerk read an extract from the
minutes of the said commission's meeting held Nov. 20th having reference to our
resolution joining the commission.
Doepner moved and Mack seconded a motion that the council meet on
January 2nd, 19.52, at 8 o'clock P.E. instead of December '1.*, and that the
Clerk give notice in the newspapers; carried.
C Lli j;:S, continued: Delange moved and ilcClung seconded a motion, which
was passed, to appr ove the following claim:

dated Dec. 3, 1951 from the Co. Surveyor the
period of Oct. 26 to Nov. 25, 19.51 $1017.37
By motion of McClung seconded by Delange the adjourned at
11:30 P.L
