The lI8etiJIg was called to order at 3:00 P.M, by ~or CtUlIBIiDgs. In the absence of
the Vill.a4!:e Clerk. Trustee McCl'W:lg was appointed tempore.17 clerk for the lIeetiDg.
Boll Call: CUIIlIIIiDgS. DeLaDge. Mack, McCl'W:lg present. Ludlow absent. There beiDg a
quorum present. the Council proceeded with transactiollll of busiJllles as follows:

The m1l1utes of the _etiDg of December 29. 1952 were read b7 the actiDg clerk.
A correction in the m1l1utes was requested b7 Trustee Del$Dge. which was _de
without objection. De1eJ!ge moved and Mack seconded motion the minutes be approved
as corrected - carried.
The miautes of the _etiDg of January 20. 1953 were read by the clerk. Mack moved
&lid. McC11Dloi secoDded. motion the minutes be approved as read - carried.
Mr. Harold Christensen appeared. before Council to request permission that an
automobile trailer be allowed. to park on his property for an indefinite till8 for
human habitation. After discussion the request was denied.
Mr. JaCk SiIllla appeared before Council to request that approx1mate~ 6 acres of
land at the South East corner of Highwqa +96 and #10 be rezoned iDdustrial. He
was given iDformation as to the proper procedure to follow to obtain such rezoniDg.
A list of license applications for year 1953 were read. DeI&.nge moved and Mack
secoDded motion that licenses be granted - carried.
Clai_ 1232 - 1243 inclUSive except +234 and #235 were read by the actiJIg clerk.
MeC11Dloi moved e.nd DeLauge secoDded motion that above claims be approved - carried.
The clerk read a letter from the Cllunty COlllllliss1oners that the Boad &. Bridge Fumd
allocation to the Vill.a4!:e of Arden Hills for the year 1953 would be $1180.97.
BeDort of PUblic Safety Committee:
Chairman Mack presented s~d fire protection contracts between the Village of
Arden Hills. &lid. leke Joha.nn& Volunteer Fire DepartJll8nt and SpriDg Lake Fire
Department respective~. The clerk is to file oas COW of each with the Fire
Underwriters. One signed copy of each is to be returned to each contractillg Fire
Department &lid. original copy of each is to be retained in the files of the Village
of Arden Hills.
MCC11Dloi moved a.nd Mach secollded a motion that the two COJl8tablea each be paid a
salary of :P75.00 per month a.nd a car allowance of $25.00 for the month of Februa.ry
1953 - carried.

DeLauge moved &lid. Mack secoDded a motion that the two Constables be authorized to
obtain complete coverage on their cars 1ncludiDg protection in police activities.
and present claims to the Council for excess cost over their present policies.

Report of Village Attorney - Mr. Oourtney, Village Attorney, gave the opinion that
the Justices III the Peace for the Village need retain onlT their dockets as permanent
records of cases which COIllll before them. The Village AttllrD8Y submitted an ordillanee
regardiDg the platting of property within the Village. Copies were distributed to
Council members for st~.
