MINUTES OF REGULAR MEE'rING
COUNCIL OF Trill VILLAGE OF ARDEN HILLS
Monday, July 27, 1953
The meeting was called to order at 8:05 P.M. by Mayor Cummings.
.
Roll Call: Cmmnings, De Lange, Mc Clung, Ludlow present; Mack
absent. There being a quoru~ present, the Council proceeded
with transactions of business as follows:
The minutes of the meetinG of June 29, 1953 were read by the
clerk. De Lange moved and McClung seconded a motion the minutes
be approved as read - carried.
The minutes of the special meeting of July 13, 1953 were read by
the clerk. De Lange moved and Mc Clung seconded a motion the
minutes be approved as read.*-carried. -
The Justice of the Peace submitted his report.
Reports of Standing Connnittees:
Finance - no report.
Public Safety - no report.
Public Works - Ch. De Lange reported tfiat blading and oiling of
roads within the village had commenced.
Public Welfare - Ch. Mack absent.
The Village Attorney gave his opinion on several matters as follows:
1) In regard to the recent opinion handed dovm by the Attorney
General on the use of privately ovmed automobiles for
police work, the Village Attorney suggested that they
might be leased by the Village for the time spent in
Village policing.

2~ That the Township of Moundsview was within its legal rights
in proposing to build, a new to\'m hall on the present site
within the limits of the Village of Arden Hills. l@tters
pertaining to use and possible rental were discussed by
the Council.
3) Suggested that the Village should have its ovm zoning map.
After, discussion De Lange moved and Ludlow seconded a mo-
tion that buileJ.inf, inspector, Melvin Hurlbert, be impower-
ed to take care of the printing of ten such maps - carried.

A letter from Mr. Leslie Nordin relative to the parking of a
trailer coach on his property vms read. After discussion
Ludlow moved and De Lange seconded a motion that if the coach
isn't removed within the time alloted by the Council, a warrant
be issued - carried.
Mayor Cunullings requested the building inspector to furnish the
Council with a list of those residents still living in basement
homes.
Claims #362-387 inclusive VIere read by the clerk. De Lange !"loved
and Mc Clung seconded a !"lotion the claims be approved - carried.
The weed inspector made his report.
Mc Clung moved and LUdlow seconded a motion the meeting be adjourn-
ed - carried.
The meeting aojournecl at 10:00 P.M.
