Roll Call: Cumminp;s, Nc Clung, Ashback, Ludlow present at roll call. Mr. Mack arrived at 8:10. The clerk read the minutes of the special meeting of Dec. 10, 1953. Me Clunle moved anc1 AShback seconded a motion the minutes be approved - carried. 'l'he clerk ref\01 the 'ninutes of the s necial meeting of Dec. 15, 1953. Me Clunr: moved and. Ashback seconded a motion the minutes be approved - carried. The Mayor made a report on his trip to Washington. He stated he was well received by all whom he visited. This included the Ordinance Dept. of the Army and Senator Humphrey among others. '1'he Mayor reported on the sewa~e problems wi thin the village and stated that a letter written to the Droper authorities might be in line with future plans for the village. Mack then moved and Luillow seconded a motion givinr, Attorney Courtney the authori t,'T to write Senator Humphrey requesting that the VillaGe of Arden Hills be nerJ'litted to hook-up to the sewage disDosal line of the Federal Cartrao:e Plant at smne future date - carried. Mack moved and Ashbeck seconded a motion partialil.y reimbursing l1eyor C~mmings for the cost of his trip t6 Washington - such reimbursement to be in the. amount of !'; 2CJ 0 . 00 - carried. 'fhe motion was carried with IIr.Mc Clung actinr, as mayor and Mr. CUnL'nings abstaining from voting. He had previously stated that such reimburseT'1ent waS not necessary. The Council also commend- ed Mayor Cummings for his persistant efforts on behalf of the Village. The Mayor read. a resolution on a Planning Committee. After dis- cussion Mack moved and AShback seconded a motion empowering the l{ayor to appoint e commission - the commission to report to the Council. The resolution vms anproved Yiith the above stipulation. . lJc Clung moved and Mack seconded a motion appointing Melvin Hurl- bert, Building Inspector; Ed Salvards, Electrical Inspector; and Dr. Mogs, Health Officer for the year 1951,.
