MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING
COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF ARDEN HILLS
Monday, April 26, 1951,
The meeting was called to order at 8:02 P.M. by Mayor Ashbach.

Roll Call: Present - AShbach, 11c Clung, Mack, Ludlow
Absent - De Lange
The minutes of the J1arch 30th meoting were read by the clerk.
There were no additions or corrections.
Finance - No report.

Public Safety- Justice of the Peace Krautkremer asked that the
police officers of the villar:e be noti:fied when the fire depts.
are called into the villaf',e.
The proposedburninp: ordinance was discussed.
Me Clung moved and Ludlow seconded a motion appointinp, Norvall
Mc Neil as a special police officer for the village for duty at
the plant of Charmion Motors with authority restricted to the
plant of Champion'Motors. Such appointment is to be effective
until January 1, 1955 and sUb,ject to termination upon histermi';'
natior of employment with saicl cOI'lpany. The Champion Motors Co.
is to be charged any extra premiu'1ls on the liability insurance
of the village. Mack voteo contrary - the I'lotion carried.
Public Works - street warning signs are to be erected wherever
needed.
The Village Attorney is to check on the village's power to pass
an ordinance rer:uletinp: speed within the village.

Public Welfare - Ch. Mack renorted on possible park sites.
Clerk - Clerk Ludlow read the application for a cigarette license
of Adam Bona. Ludlow moved and Mack seconded a motion that the
application be approved and the license issued effective from
May 1, 1954 thru Dec. 31, 1954 - carried.
Village Attorney ~ J1ack moved and Ludlow seconded a motion direct-
lng Hr. Courtney to write a letter to the County Assessor author-
izing hil'l to investir,ate the tax basis for the Du Pont property
within the Village - carried.

have retained Mr. Carley to rewrite their building codes. Ludlow

Me Clung seconded a motion the claims be approved, as read. 'IfIhe

Mr. Courtney read the burning ordinance. Portions were discussed
and changes suggested.
The dog mlisance was discussed and referred to the committee on
pUblic welfare for further study.
