The regular monthly meetir,g of the Council of the Village of Arden
Hills, Minre rota, was held at the Village Hall on lfondq,June 28, 1954.
lIeeting called to order at 8:05 P.M.

Mqor .A8hbach reported that the mimltes cJ: the last meeting were
not available. Reading po!ltponed.
Ilr. IIack moved, and Mr. McClung seconded the motion, that the
reading ot the minutes be dispensed with. IIotion carried.

Mr. Sexton gave a report of the Planning Committee regarding plans
on Valentine .Hills .No. 2. Submitted report and reC01lllllllnded no action be
taken until project owners had complied with certain recOIIIIII.endations made
in report.
1Ir. Kenneth Schacht spjke questioning drainage through Sll"amp area
in Valentine Hills No.2. Clerk is to write Hubert F. West, Secretary
Ramsey County Plat Commission advising him of action 'We have taken regarding
ValentiiJ.e Hills No.2 and ask him llhat action he has taken.
Mr. Vie Weber, Chief of Police, spoke on matters relating to the
Public Safety COIIIlIIittee.

Road E. (or Higlnrq 10) be oiled by the state. .

Clerk to write a letter to E. J. JlcOubray, District Engineer,
lliDnesota HiglPray DepartmEnt, in accordance with the motion.

Presented survey of Ramsey County covering recOllllllellliations re-
garding traffic control in Village of Arden Hills. Clerk to make copy of
recOlll1llElndations and send to Council members.
Also, report on letter written to Senate Sub Committee Hearing
on bill reI U.S. assistance to nn.m:l.cipalities having govel'l1a8l1t plants
within borders.
Mr. Mack moved building permits inclusive of #143 be approved. IIll,}'Or
Ashbach seconded. Motion carried.
The clerk is to write to IIlorthem'State8 Power Company regard-
ing landscaping of Sllb-station at Higlnrqs 100 and 10. Refer to their
letter agreeing to do eo--attention Mr. H. A. KcDaniel.

Cummings was ready for hanging arrangements were to be turned over to
League of Women Voters. for .lluitable meaorial ceremonies.
A matter concerning eas_ent, as covered in letter of June 2,
1954, from JQlgene A. IIonick, was deferred for possible future action.

approved.

Mr. MCClung moved that beginning July 1, 1954 the salary of the
Village Attorney, Vincent Courtney, be set at $37.50 per month With tha under-
standing that he ru:y bill the village at the ellll. of each quarter an additional
8IIOunt for special meetings he is requested to attellll. and for special services
he is required to suPPlT the village by request of the Village Council.
Mr. Mack seconded. Motion carried.
On lIIOtion of Mr. McClung, seconded by 1Ir. Jlack, the meeting was
adjourned at 10:50 P.Il.
