COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF AmEN HILLS

The meeting was called to order at 8:05 P.M. by Mayor Ashbach.
Present - A.3hbach, McClung, Ludlow
. Absent - DeLange, Mack
The minutes of the June 1st meeting were read by the clerk. There being
no additions or corrections the miIl\1tes stood approved as read.
Ralph W. Hunt of 11.60 Skiles Lane asked whether the village streets ....ere to
be oiled. Ilayor A.3hbach reported that there will probably be enough BlOll,ey avail-
able for two oilings.
The Angust meeting of the Council will include a cQlllltlll1Oration ceremony honor-
ing former Mayor Walter Cummings. Suggestions were advanced as to what such a
meeting should include.
FINANCE Clerk Ludlow reported a treasury balance of $12,279.32.
PUBLIC SAFEl'Y Chairman McClung reported the committee felt a curfew to be un-
necessary at this time; the motor boat oroinance is satisfactory
to the committee; a possible aircraft control ordinance is under
study; a leaky load ordinance 1I'OUld be a benefit to the village;
and that a dog licensing ordinance will be presented at the next
meeting of the Council.
PUBLIC w:lRKS Ilayor Ashbach reported weeds cut and the installation of road signs
where needed.
PUBLIC WELFARE Chairman Mack is to check and report on cesspool problems lIithin
. the village.
CLERK IIrs.Ludlow made a report. on her trip to Washington to seek possible
increase in tax revenue from the New Brighton Arms Plant. A report
....as also mllie on the progress of the opposition to expansion of the
moka County Aiz:port.
A report; on building codes was referred to the Planning Committee.

Mr. Court;ney presented a possible Leaky Load Law for the village.
After discussion, ludlow moved the reading be accepted as the first.
reading of the ordinance. McClllng seconded - the motion carried.
IIcClmlg moved that since the miImtes indicated two readings of the
motor boat ordinance that the second reading be dispensed with and .
the ordinance be accepted. ludlow seconded; the motion carried.
Claims #454thru #466 were read by the clerk. McClung moved them approved
pending a check to be made on #457 by Mayor Ashbach. Ludlow seconded - the motion
carried.
Iwilow moved and McClung secom ed a motion the meeting be adjourned. The
meeting adjourned at 10115 P.II.
