VILLAGE OF ARDEN HILLS - Monday October 25, 1954

The meeting was called to order at 8:15 P.M. by Mayor Ashbach.
Roll Call - Present: Mack, Ludlow, Ashbach, McClung
Absent: DeLange
. .Mr. Dave Kise of 4140 Reiland Lane applied for the job of Building
Inspector and stated his qualifications. After discussion, it was decided the
clenk should insert a notice in the Rose Tribune advising residents of tIE area of
the vacancy in the post ot' building inspector as of January Ist--applications to
be submittEld by letter to tile clerk for presentation at the next meeting.

A letter from School District #3 of Roseville was read in regard to
approval of a propased new school bus route. After discussion, Ludlow moved and
McClung seconded a motion approving the route as outlired in their letter of
Octob er l. The motion carried.
Public Safety Chairman McClung reported that fire contracts for 1955 were
bei"g worked on with meetings wi tll the fire departments involved scheduled for early
in November. AnothElr committee meeting would be held to review factors effecting
constables I salaries.
Public Works: Mayor Ashbach suggested that more of the road work be
submitted for bids in the futare.
Attorney Courtney informed the Council on the procedure of condemnation
in re: property on Lake Johanna Boulevard in a dilapidated condition. After di s-
cussion, McClung moved and Indlow seconded a motion that Mr. Courtney verify the
address of the property owners, contact them by registered mail, return receipt re-
quested, ani infoI'!Jl them that condemnation notices will be posted on the building
involved. Carried.
Mr. Courtney is to write Mr. Malenas and Mr. Kuchinske re: f ailu re to
appear at May meeting of Council.
After discussion, it was decided that the nuisance ordinance and the
restrictions stipulated for Shorewood Hills would be gone over by Mr, Courtney and
Mr. Mack.
. The Council was told David McClung has resigned as janitor.
McClung moved and Mack secord eO. the motion declaring that the polls
would be open from 1:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tueeday December 7, 1954 for the
annual village election. Carried.
Inellow moved, Mack seconded, a motion appointing:

Ludlow moved, and Mack secord ed, a motion approving claims #164
through #172 inclusive. Carried.
:I:he Island Lake Park probl"m was diseussed and deferred to a Special
Meeting to be held Wednesday Octcher 27, at 8:00 P.M. at the home of the clerk.
McClung moved, and Mack seconded, a motion the meeting bEl adjourned.
Carried. The meeting adjourned at 10: 15 P.M.
