The meeting WES called to oreier et 8:05 by Mayor Ashbech.
The ne" officers, Dr. Harvey Hoyt', Trustee, and Mrs. Lorraine Stromquist
were sworn into office by Acting Village Attorney Mr. Keys.

Roll Call: All members present.

in appreciation of services rendered in office as trustee.
The oathes of office were filed with the clerk.

'(,roposed Shore"ood Hills Plat, end R. C. WoIfgra,m, their surveyor, came forward,
referred Council to 2 letter of Dec. 10, 1954 to our Villa~e Engineer Mr. Carley
concerning the plat, and aek~d the Council to accept plat. }s Mr. \volfgram
stated that the final plat didn't yet meet entirely all the reouirements, the
Council dedided to ge thru letter of Dec. 10, to ~~. C~rley, And determine which
requirements ~ere yet to be met.

Reo,uire. 5-6 Village Engineer Carley's advice to be taken regarding drainage.
Motion made by Hoyt and seconded by Delange, that the Surveyor
when naming street nOw named Oakwood, be referred to Remsey County
Plenning Commission, & street name should not contain name Oek.
Motion carried.
Require. 7 Mr. Sauers presented Council with a petition to rezone Shorewood
Hills from Ferm Residence to Residential, Class A. McClung
moved and Hoyt seconded the motion thPt the ouestion of rezoning the
property which is contemplated to be kno~n as Shore~ood Rills be
published. as required by lB.", end a heRring on rezoning set at
January Jl, 1955. Motion carried.

Require. 9 Ammended to include "trees & debris be removed from this area, this
to be done by contractor."
Reauire 10 Drainage problem to be worked out by Mr. Carley.
Require. 11 !~. Mack a(vised Cour_cil to 8~cept Lots 20 & 21 to be deeded by
owners to Vtllage, to be used as a possible playground in the future.
Council p~reed that Lots 20 & 21 be deeded by quit claim deed
and be changed to one lot, or Lot 20, Block 5 in proposed Shorewood
Hills Plet. The dee<i should be received in good order by clerk
prior to signing the ~lat.

acted upon." Also "110 exceptions be made to the 1200 sq. ft.
minimum house area.. and "that rOB,ds in pla,t be finished by
Nov. 1. 1955, and satisfactory progress be ma,de by early FaIl,
to insure that they are done on time."
Hovt '"oved and DeLange seconded the motion that the clerk provide the li st of
documents and changes or additions to the plat as a~reed upon Jan. ), to Mr.
Sauers and Mr. Kranak, SO they can complete ~lat, so that as soon as
Engineer and Attorney ca.n insnect and approve finel pla,t and Village Attorney
can give his opinion on all le~al documents, the Council can give approval
for final documents. Motion carried.
Hoyt moved end McClung seconded the motion that Mr. DeLange be appointed Acting
Mayor. Motion carried.
McClung moved and Hoyt seconded thet Victor Weber be appointed Police Chief
for the year 1955 !'ubject to termination at any time by cction of Village
Council. subject to compensntion of $25.00 per mo. Motion carried.
DeLa,nge moved and Hoyt seconded >,.e appoint Vincent Courtney es Attorney for
Arden hills at same sals,ry end same conditions as previously understood. Carried.

Stromouist presented licenses to Council for approval. Hoyt moved and McClung
seconded >,e approve 8,11 licenses from #25-)0 >,ith # 27 s,nd )0 excepted.

He felt it a necessery expenditure. In future ,~,l1 bills should follow procedure

Claims 212-216 read- DeL"nge moved. & Hoyt seconded approval.. Motion CArried.
Mr. Mack requested permission to sell Hot Dogs and Coffee' "i thout 1", 1 icease
at a fishing contest sponsored by Arden Hills Sportsmen Club Jan. 16. 1955
at Lake Johanna. McClung ~oved the matter ~f licence be waived for Arden Hills
Sportsmen Club for Jan. 16, 1955 at Lake Johanna. Hoyt seconded and motion
