SPECIAL MEETING
COUNCIL FOR THE VILLAGE OF .ARDEN HILLS
Tues~. April 5. 1955
The meeting was called to order at 8115 P.!~. by ~or Ashbach.
Roll Call: All members present
MJ,'. Tretter and Mr. Larson of Northern States Power Company stated a desire for
. their company to bring natural gas into Areen Hills. Copies of an. ordinance
allowing this was presented Council. Mr. Tretter read thru the ordinance with the
Council. After discussion. Council requested Mr. Courtney ItGk inllo the ordinance
presented and report to the Council at next meeting.. Clerk will furnish Council
members with a copy of the ordinanoe.
Mr. McClung stated a dog ordinanoe had been drawn up by his oommittee. Clerk will
furnish Counoil members with a copy of the dog ordinanoe.
Mr. Stepnitz and Mr. RysgMd appeared regarding the Zilliolt req:uest. After Counoil
disoussion. Dr. Hoyt made a motion we call for a publio hearing of the Zilliolt

Re.nge 23. lying So. of R.R. Right of W~n from Farm residenCe to Business. and
sohedule the hearing for April 25. 1955. Stromquist seconded and the motion passed.
After Counoil discussion on the Air Raid .Alarm System. McClung moved and DeLange
seoonded the motion the Villa,ge approve $410.00 for installation of two Air Raid
Warning Sirens. to take advantage of the cost born by the state and federal Civil
Defense Organization. Motion passed. The motion was later ammended for $436.00
instead of $410.00 as that lias the oorreot amount required. The breakdown of the
figure on the siren system are as follows:

Of the $702.00 for each siren. Arden Rills p~s for ~ of this or $175.50. The oost
of the bell and light for the system is $85.00. Of this Arden Rills pays i or
$42.50. ~nis makes a total of $218.00 or a total of $436.00 for the two sirens.
The State and Federal Civil Servioe pays the remaining oost.

Hoyt moved and McOlung seconded the motion the Justice of the Peace supplies
totalrng $57.10 be paid. Motion passed
McOlung moved and DeLange seconded the motion the bill of $103.00 of Vincent
Oourtney for time spent on the Shorewood Hills matter be paid. Motion passed.
. Meeting was adjourned at 10:20 P.M.
