if Council is interested in purchasint; bends.
John Koontz, I,rounds View 'Township Clerk and hicImrd Meyer, their Attorney
offered the village hall for sale to Arden ~ills. Councll of Arden
Hills to meet with Mounds View officials Feb. 28, 1958 at 7:00 PM. to
discuss the matter.
~ttorney Courtney was requested to write to Sam Ciresi informing him of
the trouble caused our village by break-ins in his former establishment
of l;he Hillside Tavern on Highway {flO.
FEANCE REPCRT: Mrs. Stromquist reported a balance in the treasury of
;p25 ,222 .29.
Upon motion by" Stromquist, seconded by Crepeau, Wayne DeLane;e was
appointed Village ',ieed Inspec tor for 1958. Hot ion 1'a s sed.
P1JLLIC SAFI/TY !IEFCRT: Council reqccested Crepeau to request the Lake
Johanna Improvement Assoc. to again patrol Lake Jormnna this coming
summer.
FL~BLIC ':iOEKS: Upon motion by Crepeau, seconded by stronlcp ist, Council
autIlorized B. J. Delange to post village roads w ith weight restrictions
according to his judsement, and Clerk was requested to put notice in
the hose T1'ibune that roads will be posted about l,;arch 15, Eotion passed.
VAYOR'S R:srORT: hlayor Ashbach and I,Ionroe Kronstedt are to meet with Kermit
IIedman in regard to Civil Defense program for Arden Hills.

of property at County ;,oad E and rlamline Avenue from John Kenna as
described on the ballot submitted to the voters December, 1957, the land
to be used for village purposes. I,iotion passed.

George ::;alitros requested that if Oouncil uses the land fOl' playground,
that people not be allowed to nresspass on nearby private property.
AT~CRK~Y'S REPORT: Upon motion by Stromquist, seconded by Crepeau, a
Resolution I~e Condemnation fOD Sewer If,;provement in the Vicinity of Grant
Road Vias approved by the Council. :~otion passed.
m;GI'C;;Lh'S L';PCHT: In regard to the 10'den Hills !i2 dl'ainage problem,
Don Carley suzc;ested tlJat the ditches in the area be dedicated to the
Villa'ge so that the Village can enter on the land to work on it. Llayor
Ashbach sU,:ges ted that the land be deeded to Village, dec lar ing the
-area a drainagc district, with ~enif~itted property owners to be
assessed for the cost of the work done to correct the problem. MaJ-or

A request from the Grotto Club for a 3ingo permit for club members w as
referred to the Public Safety Committee and to the Village Attorney for
study.
Upon illotion by Crepeau, seconded by DelanGe, Vic ',ieber will be paid
~~37.50 per month as FoUce Chief beginning in !:larch, 19i)8, and Jack
';:olf and Jeron,e Wasielewski will be paid (;100.00 per month as police
officerx startinc February 1, 1958. ~otion passed.
Dr. Sekhon to be requested to put a notice in local newspapers telling of
unsanitary and hazardous cesspool conditions, and requesting residents
to take care of the problem.
