Roll Calla Present; AShbach, Crepeau, Kennedy, Delange, Stromquist. Absent; None. . The Minutes of the May 9, 1959 meeting were read and approved. .Mayor Ashbach called the public hearing to order to consider the rezoning of Lot 13, Block 2, Dalsorer Addition from R-1Residential to C- Commercial. No one appeared for the hearing. Mr. Kennedy reported that the land had been rezoned to residential in error when the area was zoned after annex- ation to Arden Hilla Village. Motion made by Kennedy, seconded by Crepeau that an ~rdinance Amending the Zoning Oddinance to Rezone to Commercial Property Described as Lot 13, Block 2, Dalsorer Addition, Ramsey County be given first reading. Motion passed. Mr. Don Gode requested an informal meeting with Council for residents to ask additional ~uestions on proposed sewer improvement. A meeting was set by Council for Thursday, May 28, 19;)9 at 8:00 P.M. at the Village Hall. The Engineer's plan for parking area and turn around at Glenarden Road in the village playground was referred to Recreation Chariman Pomerenke and to the Public Welfare Committee. A new road milage list was submitted by Engineer Bill Dolan. Mr. Dolan alas submitted a road map for Council approval. Map was referre4 back to Engineer to list unplatted roads on it also, as the map is to be used by Fire Department. Attorney Courtney was requested to discuss an easement for turn around. at Lake Lane with attorney for Rose Baileff. A letter on cost estimite for unplatted road from Hamline Avenue to proposed Husby1s Crestview plat was filed with Clerk. Mr. Pat Sweeney inquired about the deed restrictions held by residents of Arden Hills Plat. Attorney informed him that they are not enforcable by Village Council. Mr. Sweeney objected to stray dogs in the neighborhood and to rubbish in neighbor's yards. Public Safety Department to cheek into the matter. Mr. Krannak informed Council that if he is to leave undeveloped, the part of his proposed Shorewood Hills 7 plat that may be taken by the Minnesota ~ighway Dept, it will mean he must leave 90% of his land vacant. His ~Attorney, Mr. Clayburn and his Engineer, Mr. Wolfgram discussed the matter with Council, and felt that the highway may not even go in in that proposed location. Village Attorney Courtney suggested Council tr~ to get a letter of committment from the Highway Dept as to how definite their plans are for the proposed highway. Matter referred to Mayor Ashbach and Attorney Courtney. Attorney's Report: Attorney Courtney reported he has prepared a deed to the land at Registered Land Survey '112 at Cummings Lane and has sent it out to be signed by the developer, Mr. Gerald Skildum. Courtney was authorized by Council to pay the Approximately $5.00 tax bill for 1958 on the property as that will probably be a smaller oost to the village than aotion for abatement of the t~x. Mr. Courtney reported that he hopes to obtain the easement for the proposed turn around at alley in Arden Hills plat, but as yet has not heard from Mrs. Patterson, land owner, on the matter. Mr. Courtney reported he hopes to oomplete matter of purohase of the town hall by the next regular oounoil meeting. ~ Mr. courtney reported that village need do nothing about Boat Ordinanoe that was in effect las year sinoe boat licensing will now be done by the State of Minnesota. Public Welfare Committee: Upon motion by Kennedy, seoonded by Crepeau, an Ordinanoe Amending the Zoning Ordinanoe to Broaden the permitted uses in Area R-2, inoluding Permitting Twin Houses was introduoed by title and considered first reading. Motion passed. A publio hearing was set for June 29, 1959 at 8:00 P.M. at the Village Hall. Trustee Kennedy suggested it might be advisable to omit the serivoes of Talbot Jones, Planning Consultant, as we now have the Planning committee, Village Engineer and Village Attorney to consult on plat developement. Mr. Kennedy to inquire about status of village maps being drawn up by Mr. Jones. Kennedy repartee that the proposed Round Lake Hills plat will be disoussed at the next meeting. Public Safety Committee: Trustee Crepeau reoommended payment of elaim of $15.00 for shirts and oaps for village polioe officers. Vie Weber, polioe Chief reported he had been able to obtain matohing Drousers free of charge for the polioe department. Finanoe Committee: Mrs. Stromquist reported the oommittee met with Insur- anoe agent Wm Hite and recommended the insuranoe policies as attached. Upon motion by Stromquist, seoonded by Kennedy, the attaohed list of ipsurance coverage policies were approved for ythe ourrent year. Carried. stromquist reported that Committee recommended that new liquor request for Off Sale liquor by Kathleen Keiffer for Mar-Dee's Inn be oonsidered after the Waldock applioation. Counoil aoceptedrecommendation. Upon motion by stromquist, seconded by Kennedy, the following licenses were approved for Kathleen S. Kieffer for Mar-Dee's Inn at 4760 N. Hy. 8: Cafe, Juke Box, Soft DrinkS, Cigarettes, On and Off Sale Non-Intoxicating malt liquors. Motion passed. Upon motion by Crepeau, seconded by Kennedy, Claims 1762 thru 1775 and 1783 thru 1798 were approved for payment. Motion passed. Building Inspector Kelley recommended for condemnation the old building at 3411 Lake Johanna Blvd. Clerk to cheok minutes to see provisions for old building when building permit was issued for new house about Jan. or Feb., 1958, and inform Mr. Kennedy. ~ Vie Weber, Pol.Chief fequested Council to oonsider an ordinance prohibitinF peddlers 1n village.
