Monday, Octobe~ 23, 1967
Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor Nethercut.

Water System for Arden Hi I Is
The Mayor discussed with the group current needs for settIng up
a water system In the village.
Plumbing Inspector West and Mr. Archie Marcot arrived at tho
meeting at 8:30 p.m. Details of the proposed water system were
discussed with Mr. West. An Imme~iate need appeared to be
for an employee to Install Village water meters and to perform
other tasks related to the water system. Mr. West Introduced
Mr. Marcot and recommended him for the Job. After further 015-
cusoion with Mr. West and Mr. Marcot, motion was made by Crepeau,
seconded by Bjorndahl, that the Village employ Mr. Archie
Marcot as a part time Village employee to instal I water meters
and other related jobs at a rate of $5.00 per meter installatlon-
each installation not to exceed I hour of time. For any Instal-
ling taking over the one hour, Mr. Marcot to be paid at a rate
of $3.00 per hour. Motion passed.
Mr. West will continue as plumbing inspector and make all In-
spections for Water connections.
Water System Ordinance
Upon motion by Hollenhorst, seconded by Olmen, an ordinance reg~
ulating the water system of the Village of Arden Hills, provldln~
for water connections thereto and charges therefor and providing
a I icans/ng system for water service excavators was introduced
by title. Motion carried.
Test BorinQs. Control Data Property
The council granted Banister Engineering Co., permission to order
soil test borings on Control Data pro,perty to determine suitability
of land as a water tower site. '

who inquire that they may construct the water line from their

time. No ordinancp has yet bean passed to allow the actual water
hookup as yat, however.
'. Easement - Harldns Property
Upon motion by Crepeau, seconded by BJorndahl, Attorney Salland
was authorized to negotiate B water easement across the property
owned by Harkins, cost of easement not to exceed $1,000.00. Motlbn
carried. Attorney Salland and Engineer Hendrickson both recom-
mended that the above I isted cost for ~easement was a very reasonable
cost for the easement and that It might cost the property owner
more than $i,OOO.OO to restore sod to original condition.

Letter drafted by Administrative Clerk was revised by Council and
authorization given to Clerk to mall to all residents of the Village.
Temporary Permission for Arden Hills Connection to Roseville S~stem

Water Meter Bids
Motion made by Crepeau, seconded by Olmen, that Engineer Short
prepare specifications for water meters, remote meters to be called
for, and that advertisement for bids be made with bids to be
opened Monday, November 6, 1967 at 2:00 p.m. at the Village Hall.
Motion carried. Administrative Clerk authorized to open bids
and to then refer them to Village Engineer for tabulation.
. The meeting was adjourned at 11:45 p.m.
