CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, MINNESOTA
SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MEETING
DECEMBER 18, 2000
. 4:45 P.M. - ARDEN HILLS CITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS
CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Acting Mayor Gregg Larson called to order the
special City Council meeting at 4:56 p.m.
Present: Acting Mayor Gregg Larson; Councilmembers Beverly Aplikowski, and
Lois Rem.
Absent: Mayor Dennis Probst and David Grant.
Also present were City Administrator, Joe Lynch; Public Works Director, Dwayne
Stafford; City Accountant, Terrance Post; Park and Recreation Director, Tom Moore;
and Recording Secretary, Heidi Guenther.
ADOPT AGENDA
MOTION: Councilmember Aplikowski moved and Councilmember Rem seconded a motion
to adopt the agenda for the December 18, 2000, special City Council meeting, as
. amended. The motion carried unanimously (3-0).
APPRO V AL OF MINUTES
A. November 20, 2000 Council Worksession
B. November 27, 2000 Regular Council Meeting
COlmcilmember Rem asked if the legislators were contacted regarding the January 16, 2001
Council Worksession and ifthey were available, Mr. Lynch indicated they were contacted and
stated they would get back to the City the beginning of January.
Councilmember Rem noted that on page 7, first line, the word "not "should be removed to read
"are class five", She asked that on page 17, second paragraph, that the second sentence begin a
new paragraph.
Acting Mayor Larson noted several changes on November 27,2000 Regular Council Meeting
minutes on page 2, last paragraph to read "which may require them to make minutes or tapes
public after the litigation is over." He noted page 4, third paragraph, second to last sentence and
inquired whether Councilmember Aplikowski's statement was correct. Councilmember
Aplikowski asked that the sentence be struck from the minutes for clarification purposes.
. Acting Mayor Larson indicated on page 5, third paragraph from the bottom, second line from the
bottom, he noted the word "it" should be dropped, He added that the bottom paragraph, at the
end of the first sentence, needs a parenthesis.

. MOTION: Councilmember Aplikowski moved and Councilmember Rem seconded a motion
to approve the November 20,2000 Council Worksession meeting minutes, and
the November 27, 2000 Regular Council meeting minutes as corrected above,
The motion carried unanimously (3-0).
CONSENT CALENDAR
A. Claims and Payroll
B. Approval of200l City Council/Planning Commission Meeting Schedule
Mr. Lynch indicated Councilmember Grant asked if vendor claims could be sorted from largest
amount to the smallest and asked if there was a preference.
Councilmember Aplikowski indicated she would like the checks to remain alphabetical. The
other Councilmembers concurred.
MOTTON: Councilmember Rem moved and Council member Aplikowski seconded a motion
to approve the Consent Calendar and authorize execution of all necessary
documents contained therein. The motion carried unanimously (3-0).
RECESS
. COl~!member Rem moved and Councilmember Aplikowski seconded a motion
to rc 5S the meeting at 5:08 p,m, The motion carried unanimously (3-0).
