1972. The roport proposed a wat~r mann running from Hamllne Avenue
along Hlghl'/ay 96 to Yhe park. A map showing the area to be served
was 5hown. Cost figures for the project estimated the over-a'~ project
~t 1200,000 with a total of $95,000 to be alsessed against property

the ~act that the figures are prailmlnary and that the report shows only
one method of finanCing.

Engineer Lund reported that the 1970 Federal Aid Highway Act pro~lded
'or the estab~l~hment of a Federal Aid Urban Highway System. The
s'is;~'em Is to be astabHshed In urbanhed areas only and to be located
to serVe the major urban center of activity, .and designed taking Into
consIderation the hlghast traffic volume corridors and the longest
trips within such aroa.

I. Must be locatad within the urban boundary.

arterial and can be expected to continue as such In the

made by Herrick. seconded by Hollenhorst, that the statement be

that It be published In the New 8rlghton Bulletin. Motion carried
unanimously.

Mrs. Stromquist recommended. and the Council concurred, that sometime
before the end of the year, aRternate formats for the st8temenf be
