SPECIAL JOINT CITY COUNCIL MEETING
SEPTEMBER 22, 1997

CALL TO ORDER
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a joint meeting of Cities of Arden Hills, North
Oaks and Shoreview was called to order at 7:00 p,m,
Present: Mayor Dennis Probst; Councilmembers Beverly Aplikowski, Susan Keirn and
Paul Malone; City Administrator, Brian Fritsinger; and Public Works
Superintendent, Dwayne Stafford; Council representatives for the Cities of
North Oaks and Shoreview.
Absent: Councilmember, Dale Hicks,
JOINT FIRE SERVICES CONTRACT
The City Councils discussed the upcoming contract negotiations to be held with the Lake
Johanna Volunteer Fire Department (LJVFD). The City Administrators were directed to begin
negotiations and work with City Attorney Filla and the LJVFD to see if a Joint Powers
Agreement could be prepared.
HIGHWAY 96 RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT
The City's also discussed the status of the Highway 96 reconstruction project. This included
timing, the Lexington Avenue intersection, and County Road 49,
