Mr. Hartung suggested that recyc ing eentera shQuld be er.ated
and noted tile various, recycling efforts in Fridle.y, Colullbia
Heights etc. Hartung said the problea is to:get tbe ite.a to
be recycled in one plee. to aake it worthwhile t,o the, cOIl.ualty;
feela tbe Cityshou\d participate in the project. Hartullg listed
various items which can be recycled - aluminua cans (beer and aod.
pop) pl..tic milk bottles, paper, wire, coathangera etc.
Hartung .aid it the City.acted as an interaediary, it could .
realiae a portion of the revanue which it needs to hold down
taxes.
In discussion Council expressed interest in the idea, an d i ts
willingness to look at a proposal of how the,City could become

adopt Ordinance No. 216, AN ORDINANCE REGULATING THE ERECTtON,
CONSTRUCTION, REPAI" ALTERATION, LOCATION OR MAINTENANCE OF
SIGNS WITHIN THE CI~Y OF ARDE~ HILLS, PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE ..
OF PERMITS, INSPECTION AND; FEES, ANP PROVIDINC PEIALTlES PORe
VIOLATION. Motion Carried unanimously.
