Minutes of Special Council Meeting
Village of Arden Hills
Thursday, December 1, 1983 - 5:15 p.m.
Village Hall
Call to Order
Pursuant to due call and noti ce thereof, Mayor Woodburn called the
meeting to order at 5: 18 p.m.
Roll Call
. Present - Mayor Robert Woodburn, Councilmen Dale Hicks,
Diane McAllister
Absent - Councilmen Michael Christiansen, Thomas Mulcahy
Also Present - Engineer Donald Christoffersen, Stephen Lee, PCA,
Clerk Administrator Charlotte McNiesh.
REPORT OF VILLAGE ENGINEER DONALD CHRISTOFFERSEN
Bids - Water Impr. No. W-83-4
Christoffersen reported that two bids were received on Wednesday,
November 30th:
o and P Contracting Inc. $192.777.70
Dawson Construction 213,618.50
Christoffersen recommended that the bid be awarded to the low
bidde r, o and P Contracting Inc. Stephen Lee, MPCA, submi t te d
s Ie t te r from Ssndra Gardebring stating that her staff has
reviewed the proposed contract and, pursuant to Part lIB. 7. c.
of the Substate Grant Agreement, app roves the award to the low
bidder.
Christoffersen advised that he may submit a change order at a
later date - thinks some of the cost included in item 32, Clearing
and Grubbing, should be in items 27 and 28, Replacement Backfill
and Granular Pipe Subgrad Backfill.
McAllister moved, seconded by Hicks that Council adopt Resolution
No. 83-69, RESOLUTION AWARDING BID FOR IMPROVEMENT NO. W-83-4.
Motion carried unanimously. (3-0)
REPORT OF CLERK ADMINISTRATOR CHARLOTTE McNIESH
McNiesh submitted Claim No. 2657 for monitoring leaf compost site;
noted that Village will be reimbursed for this. McAllister moved,
seconded by Hicks, that Claim be spproved. Motion carried unanimously.
(3-0) Woodburn reported that he had received many compliments for
the manner in which Morris Papenfuss assiated people at the Ie af
compoat site.
