April 21, 1994
Shoreview Community Center
1 . The meeting was called to order at 7 : 15 a.m.
2 . Present were Terry Nagle, Trygve Egge, Tom Goblirsch,
Steve Freimuth, Mary Miller, Jerry Moehnke, Arnold
Lindberg, Community Planning Coordinator Fritsinger and
Finance Committee Liaison Thomas Steele . Absent was
Dan McCallum.
3 . Miller moved, seconded by Moehnke, to approve the
March 17, 1994 minutes .
4 . Business Survey
The committee discussed a possible follow up to the
businesses who didn' t respond. This is something that
could be done long term, maybe over the next six
months .
411 The Committee needs to respond to those businesses
indicating a need for space or are upset with the City.
This would require personal visits . Mary Miller, Jerry
Moehnke, and Dan McCallum will review the surveys to
find out which businesses require follow up. This will
be completed within 2 weeks .
Prior to conducting any follow up the committee needs
to develop a set of factors or a checklist to discuss
with the business . It also needs to be clear on how
the City will respond to concerns identified.
City staff will be available to assist as much as
possible .
5 . Goals
Jerry Moehnke will meet with the City Council tonight
to discuss the Committee ' s goals . The key goals are
continued business retention, develop of a marketing
packet and encouraging aggressive development rather
than responsive . The committee will also try to work
closer with the Planning Commission by providing its
minutes .
• 6 . Miscellaneous
A press release with the results of the survey should
be prepared. Mr. Lindberg will keep an eye on local
newspapers for possible economic development projects .
7 . The meeting was adjourned at 8 : 00 a.m. to attend the
EDAM breakfast .
