The primary function is to
work on business retention.
The Task Force discussed what the quality of businesses
should be. Beverly would like the Task Force to do a
survey of area businesses. The Task Force approved a
revised mission statement which reads as follows:
"The mission of the Economic Development Committee
shall be to represent the community, assist local
business, and to advise the City Council and
Planning Commission. This would be accomplished
through:
* Working to provide a favorable climate for
development and redevelopment.
* Retention and expansion of existing businesses.
* Attraction of new business activities.
