CITY OF ARDEN HILLS COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA ORDINANCE NO. 377 AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE SPECIAL ASSESSMENT OF COST INCURRED BY THE CITY TO ABATE CERTAIN NUISANCES AND TO RECOVER COST THROUGH SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS The Arden Hills City Council ordains that Sections 600.03, Subd. 4, and 600.06 Subd. 2 of the Arden Hills City Code are hereby amended and Section 600.06, Subd. 3 is hereby added to the Arden Hills City Code to read as follows: 600.03, Subd 4. All buildings and structures which have been damaged by fire, decay, or other means to such an extent as to endanger public safety and which are not otherwise included in the definition of "hazardous building" in M.S. 463.15, subd. 3; 600.06, Subd. 2. Special Assessment. If the City incurs any cost in order to abate the following nuisances, the City may levy a special . assessment against the property benefited: (1 ) Removal of snow, ice or rubbish from sidewalks. (2) Elimination of weeds from private property. (3) Elimination of public health or safety hazards, as defined in Arden Hills Code Section 600.02 and Section 600.03 from private property, excluding any structures included under the provisions of M.S. 463.15 to 463.26. (4) The trimming and care of trees and the removal of unsound trees from private property. (5) The treatment removal of insect infested or diseased trees on private property. (6) The cost of reinspections which find non-compliance after the due date for compliance with an order to correct the City maintenance code violation. (7) Painting the exterior of a structure to remedy a City Code violation. . . 600.06, Subd. 3. Any special assessment levied under Subd. 600.06 Subd. 2 shall be payable in a single installment, or by up to ten (10) equal annual installments, as the City Council may provide. With this exception, the provisions of M.S. 429.061, 429.071 and 429.081 shall apply to assessments made under this Section.
