Minutes 7-20-00 <br /> 1. Call to order—7:05 P.M. <br /> 2. Ray McGraw,Chuck Stoddard,Mark Kelliher,Clayton Zimmerman,Chuck Mertensotto,Lois Rem, <br /> Dwayne Stafford. <br /> 3. Minutes Approved. <br /> 4. Old Business: <br /> Reviewed draft by City Attorney as a result of our recommendations from June 15,2000. Those <br /> present felt that the draft accurately reflects our recommendations. The haulers are responsible to <br /> notify their customers of the change. <br /> 5. New Business: <br /> A. City Gateway Signs: Options—review past studies,members were polled as to their views on <br /> gateway signs. For: 4 Opposed: 1 Members felt that the level of signage should vary based <br /> on location. The group was split as to whether signs are for beautification or marketing. Suggested <br /> locations: 35 and 96,35W and No.end of TCAP(County Road I),Highway 10 by Sherrer Brothers, <br /> County Road D and Cleveland,Lake Johanna Blvd.and County Road D,Lexington and 96,E and 96, <br /> Lexington and Lake Josephine,Snelling and County Road E,E and Lexington,694 and 35W,South <br /> Boundary on Highway 51,Hamlin and 96. Dewayne will investigate the cost of signs. Committee <br /> members to review sites by next meeting. <br /> B. Street Signs—Defined list of signs that city personnel could make the decision on.Informational: <br /> dead end,deaf child,and slow children. Requester should present a petition with signatures of 75 <br /> percent of the affected residents. The property owner where the sign will be located must <br /> approve. Dewayne will bring a list of informational signs to the August meeting. <br /> 6. Staff Update: Dewayne discussed the types of curbs that are installed. <br /> 7. Council: Lois Rem reviewed the budget increase of 2.99 percent. Speed limit study on Old Highway <br /> 10(Old Snelling). <br /> 8. Meeting was adjourned at 9:10 P.M. <br />
