COUNTY OF RAMSEY
STATE OF MINNESOTA
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 3
RIGHTS-OF-WAY (PERMITTED TREE VARIETIES)
OF THE ARDEN HILLS CITY CODE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, MINNESOTA, ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. Chapter 3 — Licenses and Regulations, Section 360 — Rights of Way,
Subsection 360.32 is hereby amended by deleting the [str-ieken] language and adding the
underlined language as follows:
Subd. 2 Permitted Varieties. Only tree species listed on the "Arden Hills Preferred
Street Tree Species List" the following types of trees shall be permitted under the
provisions of this Section: u heF ; rarer ,, SugaF or Red Maple; Linden; and ether
species as appr-oyed by the City.. Under no circumstances shall any tree species listed as
"prohibited" on that list cottonwood t_ non disease,.es_stant elm tree_, OF any species of
ash ree be planted in the City. . The "Arden Hills Preferred Street Tree Species List" is a
living document maintained and updated by the acting City Forester and the most current
official version shall apply.
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and
publication according to law.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 13' day of October 2025, by the City Council of the City
of Arden Hills, Minnesota.
