Minutes of Special Council Meeting
Village of Arden Hills
Saturday. September 27. 1986
Village Hall
Call to Order
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof. Acting Mayor Dale Hicks called the
meeting to order at 8:35 a.m.
Roll Call
Present:
Acting Mayor Dale Hicks. Councilmembers Nancy Hansen.
Gary Peck and Thomas Sather.
Mayor Robert Woodburn.
Shoreview Mayor and Council,Shoreview Finance Director
Bill Stawarski. Fire Chief Dan Winkel. Firefighter Roger
Leuhrs and Larry Kahnke, Paul Malone, Clerk Administrator
Charlotte McNiesh.

Report on Land Availability
Stawarski reported that they were investigating a parcel on County E east of
Lexington Avenue, owner lives in Arizona. Shoreview staff will check on solI
conditions and availability.
McNiesh reported that the Gould property was not.for sale and that an investor
had purchased the St. Paul Metalcraft property and empty lots to the north.
Realtor John Lamb said it might be possible to lease or buy a portion of the
site along Lexington Avenue provided there was access from Lexington to balance
of the site (about $100,OOO/acre).
McNiesh was asked to check on the Roberts property at Red Fox Road and Dunlap
Street. Shoreview will make some preliminary preparations should the Ramsey .
County Island Lake Park become a viable site.
Joint Powers ARreement
Attorney Filla and Attorney Lynden were requested to have a draft of a Joint
Powers Agreement for Station No. 4 by Friday. October 3rd so the Councils can
review it at a Special Joint Council Meeting on Saturday, October 4. Councils
could then take action on the agreement at their October 6 and October 13
Regular Council Meetings.
RecruitinR FirefiRhters
The consensus was that it would be desirable to recruit firefighters for Station
No. 4 using Cable TV. Town Crier. Shore Viewer or fliers mailed with utility bills.
LJVFD was asked to provide data for fliers or news releases.
Fire Equipment Needs
Suggested equipment for Station No. 4 will be provided by Consultant Quirk.
