AH cauncii gets a raise ~
The Arden Hills City Council quietly
approved its first raise in six years last week.
Near the end of a three-hour meeting April 27,
' the council voted 4-0 (Council Member JoAnn
CyroNye was absent) to raise the mayor's annual
salary from $2,900 a year to $3,600, and each
couricil member's from $2,300 to $3,180.
The councii did not discuss the proposal
prior to vbting, although Council Member Paul
Malone said later rhat it was talked about at a
previous council workshop meeting:
"We were pretty tired," he explained about ;
the lack of discdssion, while no[ing that the
action was an attempt to keep pace with council '
salaries in other, similar-sized cities. "We're I
still as cheap as ever," he said.
