Section 2-90. There. is hereby established an
Absentee Ballot Precinct Wflhin the City or Arden Hills
which will h8(ldie all abseI1lea balt",s of lhe electorate
of ll\e City of Arden Hills received during any election.

ORDINANCE NO. 269
AN ORDINANCE ADDING CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE IV, DIVISION I,
SECTIONS 2-90 THROUGH 2-93 TO THE ARDEN HILLS MUNICIPAL CODE
RELATING TO ELECTIONS
The City Council of the City of Arden Hills hereby ordains that
Chapter 2, Article IV, Division I, Sections 2-90 through 2-93
shall be added to the Arden Hills Municipal Code to read as
follows:
Article IV. Elections
Division I
Absentee Ballot Precinct
Section 2-90. There is hereby established an Absentee Ballot
Precinct within the City of Arden Hills which will handle all
. absentee ballots of the electorate of the City of Arden Hills
received during any election.
Section 2-91. The Absentee Ballot Precinct shall be the precinct
in which the City Hall of the City of Arden Hills serves as the
pOlling place for such precinct.
Section 2-92. The election board of the precinct for which the
City Hall serves as the polling place shall be the election board
of the Absentee Ballot Precinct.
Section 2-93. Unless otherwise provided in the State of Minnesota
election laws, the Absentee Ballot Precinct shall:
(a) Receive all absentee ballots of the electorate of the
City of Arden Hills for any election.
(b) Check the registration of each absentee ballot.
(c) Determine the precinct of each absentee ballot voter and
report the results of such election to each precinct
with such results to be tabulated with that precinct.
(d) Prepare a list for submission to each precinct within
the City of Arden Hills prior to the close of the
election day for precinct officials to check against the
. voter registration file to ascertain if any absentee
ballot voter voted by person.

~ (e) Reject any absentee ballots of persons who had voted at
a precinct making a notation on the envelope of the
absentee ballot as to the reason for rejection.
(f) Count the absentee ballots after the polls have closed
by opening them and tabulating the vote of each absentee
ballot voter in a manner which will indicate each vote
of the absentee voter and designate that the vote was
received by absentee ballot.
Effective Date. This ordinance shall be effective the day
fOllowing its publication.
Adoption Date. Passed by the City Council of the City of Arden
Hills the 27th of August , 1990.
