RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING INCLUSION OF COUNCILMEN, COMMITTEE MEMBERS, POLICE RESERVE OFFICERS AND CERTAIN VOLUNTEER CITIZENS IN WORKMEN'S COMPENSATION COVERAGE OF CITY WHEREAS, Section 176.011, Subd. 9(5) of Minnesota Statutes, as amended, provides that a resolution must be adopted by the governing body of a political subdivision in order for its elected or appointed officials to be covered under the Minnesota Workmen's Compensation Act (Chapter 176 of Minnesota Statutes, as amended), and WHEREAS, the Arden Hills City Council, the governing body of the City of Arden Hills, deems it advisable and in the public interest to provide workmen's compensation coverage not only for Councilmen, members of its committees and commissions, and police reserve officers but also those of its citizens who from time to time volunteer their services without pay for the improvement and maintenance of public sites, spaces and parks located within the City, NOW, THEREFORE, Be it hereby resolved by the Arden Hills City Council that all Councilmen, members of the City's commissions and committees, police reserve officers, and those citizens who from time to time volunteer their services without pay for the improvement and maintenance of public sites, spaces and parks located within the City are hereby deemed to be covered and protected by the provisions of the Minnesota Workmen's Compensation Act (Chapter 176 of Minnesota Statutes, as amended ) . BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk-Administrator of the City of Arden Hills shall take all necessary steps to cause the officials and volunteers enumerated in the previous paragraph hereof to be covered by the workmen's compensation insurance policy procured and maintained by the City including furnishing the workmen's compensation insurance carrier with certified copies of this Resolution. .
