HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-019 ,,,", . . . ~ ~HILLS CITY OF ARDEN HILLS COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA RESOLUTION No. 04-19 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF A MINNESOTA INVESTMENT FUND GRANT APPLICATION FOR GUIDANT CORPORATION. WHEREAS, Guidant Corporation is a prominent business located within the City of Arden Hills; and WHEREAS, Guidant has requested that the City apply for a Minnesota Investment Fund Grant on their behalf to help finance certain machinery and equipment for their technology intergration center in the amount of $250,000; and WHEREAS, the grant application requires a public hearing prior to submitting an application; and WHEREAS, the public hearing was duly noticed and held on January 12, 2004, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Arden Hills (Applicant) will act as the legal sponsor for the project(s) contained in the Business and Community Development Application to be submitted on January 12, 2004 and that Mayor Beverly Aplikowski and City Administrator Michelle Wolfe are hereby authorized to apply to the Department of Employment and Economic Development for funding of this project on behalf ofthe City of Arden Hills, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Arden Hills has the legal authority to apply for financial assistance, and the institutional, managerial, and financial capability to ensure adequate construction, operation, maintenance and replacement of the proposed project for its design Ii fe, BE rT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Arden Hills has not incurred any costs and has not entered into any written agreements to purchase property, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Arden Hills has not violated any Federal, State, or local laws pertaining to fraud, bribery, kiekbacks, collusion, conflict of interest or other unlawful or corrupt practice, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that upon approval of its application by the state, the City of Arden Hills may enter into an agreement with the State of Minnesota for the above-referenced project(s), and the City of Arden Hills certifies that it will comply with all applicable laws and regulations as stated in all contract agreements and described on the Compliance Section (S-7) of the Business and Community Development Application, ~ ">,' . .. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Arden Hills will obtain credit reports and credit . infonnation about Guidant prior to the submission ofthe application, NOW, THEREFORE BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED, that Mayor Beverly Aplikowski and City Administrator Michelle Wolfe, or their successors in office, are hereby authorized to execute such agreements, and amendments thereto, as are necessary to implement the project(s) on behalf of the applicant.
