HomeMy WebLinkAboutPolice Week Proclamation CITY OF ARDEN HILLS COUNTY OF RAMSEY STATE OF MINNESOTA Police Week in Ramsey County May 11-16, 2026 WHEREAS, In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15 falls, as National Police Week; and WHEREAS, There are approximately 900,000 law enforcement officers serving in communities across the United States, including the dedicated members of the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office; and WHEREAS, uniformed Patrol Sworn Staff dedicated to the contract cities include Deputies, including K9 handlers and their K9 Partners, patrol shifts, school resource officers, and water patrol deputies; and WHEREAS, the Ramsey County Criminal Investigative Unit contains sworn investigators including dedicated sex crimes investigator, Civilian Analysts/support staff and the Electronic Crimes Unit; and WHEREAS, National Police Week pays special recognition to law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others; and WHEREAS, The service and sacrifice of Ramsey County suburban law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty will be honored during the Ramsey County Suburban Law Enforcement Memorial Ceremony on May 14th, 2026; NOW THEREFORE BE IT PROCLAIMED, The City of Arden Hills City Council recognizes May 11 -16, 2026 as Police Week in Arden Hills, Minnesota, and publicly salutes the service of law enforcement officers in our community and in communities across the nation. __________________________ ___________________________ David Grant, Mayor Brenda Holden, Councilmember ___________________________ ___________________________ Emily Rousseau, Councilmember Tena Monson, Councilmember ___________________________ Kurt Weber, Councilmember
