RESOLUTION NO. 00-13
RESOLUTION APPROVING AND ADDING COMMENT TO
THE METROPOLITAN COUNCIL METRO TRANSIT, SECTIONS 1 AND 2,
RESTRUCTURING STUDY
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council has supplied the City of Arden Hills copies of the Sectors
1 and 2 Restructuring Study, Volume II: Service Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council attended a City Council Worksession on February 22,
2000 and reviewed the aforementioned study with the City of Arden Hills; and
WHEREAS, the City of Arden Hills agrees that changes need to be made to the Metro Transit
system and service to make it more convenient, accessible and effective.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Arden Hills,
Minnesota that:
1.
The City hereby accepts the Sectors 1 and 2 Restructuring Study, Volume II:
Service Plan.
2. The City hereby encourages the Metropolitan Council to consider extending
proposed Route 225 North along the east side of Lake Johanna to Bethel College
and return along the same route to serve Bethel College students, faculty, staff and
surrounding residents.
3. The Metropolitan Council review the proposed transit restructuring plan in light
of the Livable Communities Act to ensure coordination and consistency between
the two.
