o City AdnUnistrator UDdate
o
City Hall
Enclosed are copies of letters that went to Rochon from the City and Architectural
Alliance regarding work to be completed at City Hall. As you can see, we have given
Rochon until September I, 2002, to complete those items listed. We have given
Rochon until October I, 2002, to complete the waterproofing and repair the water
damage. If Rochon does not respond that they plan to complete those items by their
deadlines, the City will engage another contractor to complete that work and back
charge Rochon. As noted, the contractor has potentiillly three responses which could
include seeking arbitration/mediation. However, if they choose that option and do not
complete the work specified by the dates listed, the City will still go ahead to
complete the work so that we can wrap things up and that work will be subject to the
arbitration/mediation.
2. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
o ChesaDeake
Enclosed is a letter that was sent on behil1f of the City to CB Richard Ellis in their
attempt to recruit and retain Eastmen Kodak for the Chesapeake Development.
o TCAAP
At the staff meeting on August 13, 2002, staff discussed placing TCAAP under
Community Services as a regnlarly scheduled agenda item so that the Council can be
made aware of upcoming agendas and meetings, ask any questions during the course
of the City Council meeting, and keep everyone informed as to the progress of this
Issue.
