Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular
meeting of the City Council of the City of Arden Hills,
Minnesota was duly called and held in the Council Chambers in
said City on the 13th day of October, 1986, at 7:30 p.m.

The following members of the Council were present:
Mayor Woodburn and Council members Hansen, Hicks and Sather.
Council member Peck was absent.

RESOLUTION NO. 86-57
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF ARDEN HILLS
TO ENTER INTO JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT WITH
THE CITY OF SHOREVIEW FOR SOUTH FIRE STATION
WHEREAS, the Cities of Shoreview and Arden Hills (the
"Cities") currently lack a fire station (the "South Fire
Station") anywhere in the southern part of their jurisdictions,
and both feel that one is needed to ensure quicker response times
by fire fighters to combat fires, and
WHEREAS, the Cities have deemed it advisable, in the
public interest and mutually advantageous for them jointly to
undertake the construction of the South Fire Station and to equip
and operate it, and
WHEREAS, the attorney for the City of Shoreview has
drafted a proposed Joint Powers Agreement for the South Fire
Station (the "Joint Powers Agreement"),
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF ARDEN HILLS that the Joint Powers Agreement be
approved and adopted in the form submitted to the City Council.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and Clerk-
Administrator be and they hereby are authorized to execute the
original and counterparts of the Joint Powers Agreement on behalf
of the City of Arden Hills.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk-Administrator be
and she hereby is authorized and directed to insert on Page 4 of
the Joint Powers Agreement the number of this Resolution and the
date hereof.
Passed by the Arden Hills City Council this 13th day of
October, 1986.
