RESOLUTION APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR COMBINED IMPROVEMENT NOS. 55-83-6 AND W-86-2 (SANITARY SEWER INTERCEPTOR AND TRUHLER ADDITION WATER MAIN IMPROVEMENTS) AND ORDERING ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS THEREON WHEREAS, after the Council's adoption of Resolution No. 86-14, wherein the Council ordered preparation of a Feasibility Report for Improvement No. W-86-2 (Truhler Addition Water Main Improvement), the City Engineer determined that it would be in the best interests of the City to prepare plans and specifica- tions (the "Plans") not only for Improvement No. W-86-2 but also for Improvement No. 55-83-6, the construction of which had been ordered by the Council in April of 1984, and WHEREAS, the City Engineer has prepared the Plans for Combined Improvement Nos. 55-83-6 and W-86-2 (the "Improvement"), and WHEREAS, Section 429.031, Subd. 1, of Minnesota Statutes, as amended, authorizes a council to take such steps prior to the hearing on an improvement, including, but not limited to, authorizing the preparation of plans and specifications and the advertisement for bids thereon, as will in its judgment provide helpful information in determining the desirability and feasibility of the improvement, . NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, MINNESOTA THAT: 1. The City Engineer's preparation of the Plans for the Improvement be hereby in all respects ratified and affirmed; - 5 - . 2. The Plans, in the form submitted to the Council, be hereby approved; 3. The Clerk-Administrator be instructed to file a copy of the Plans in the City Hall; 4. The Clerk-Administrator prepare and cause to be inserted in the New Brighton Bulletin, the official paper of the City, and in the Construction Bulletin, an advertisement for the construction of the Improvement which shall specify the work to be done, call for bids upon the basis of a cash payment for such work, and shall state that: (a) The bids will be received by the Clerk- Administrator until 2:00 o'clock p.m. on May 29, 1986 (or such later date as the Clerk-Administrator deems advisable or necessary under the circumstances) at the City Hall at which time and place they will be publicly opened by the Clerk- Administrator and the City Engineer, will then be tabulated, and will subsequently be considered by the Council after the public hearing on the Improvement on June 9, 1986; and (b) No bids shall be considered unless sealed and filed with the Clerk-Administrator and accompanied by a cash deposit, certified check or bid bond payable to the City in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the amount of such bid. The motion for adoption of the foregoing Resolution was duly seconded by Council member Hansen and, upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: All; and the following voted against the same: None; whereupon said Resolu- tion was declared duly passed and adopted. . - 6 - " . . SS-83-6 and W-86-2 (SEWER INTERCEPTOR AND TRUHLER ADDITION WATER IMPROVEMENTS) CITY OF ARDEN HILLS, MINNESOTA . NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Arden Hills, Minnesota, will meet at the City Hall, 1450 West Highway 96, in the City of Arden Hills, on the 9th day of June, 1986, at 7:30 o'clock p.m., to hold a public hearing pursuant to Chapter 429 of Minnesota Statutes, as amended, on Combined Improvement Nos. 55-83-6 and W-B6-2. Imptovement No. SS-83-6 involves the installation of a sanitary sewer interceptor and appurtenances across the tracts of land lying south of Round Lake, immediately west of State Trunk Highway No. 62 (Old Highway No. 10), north of Interstate Highway No. 694 and east of Interstate Highway No. 35W. Improvement No. W~~6-2 entails the installation of a water main and appurtenances in connection with the proposed Truhler Addition by which the tract(s) of land lying at the northeast corner of the intersection of Interstate Highway Nos. 694 and 35W is being subdivided. The estimated cost of Improvement No. SS-83-6 is $601,000.00. $50,000.00. The estimated cost of Improvement No. W-B6-2 is . The area proposed to be assessed for Improvement SS-B3-6 is the following: That portion of the South 1/2 of Section 21, Township 30, Range 23, in Ramsey County, Minnesota, lying North of the Interstate Highway 694 right-of-way, east of the Interstate Highway 35W right-of-way, and west of the State Trunk Highway No. 62 (Old Highway No. 10) right-of-way. All persons desiring to be heard with reference to the improvement and the area proposed to be assessed therefor may appear and be heard by the City Council at the time and place stated above.
