RESOLUTION NO. 86-13
RESOLUTION REQUESTING MODIFICATION OF
COUNTY OF RAMSEY COST SHARING POLICY
BY MUNICIPALITIES AND AUTHORIZING PAYMENT
OF ARDEN HILLS' SHARE OF 694/LEXINGTON
BRIDGE/PATHWAY
WHEREAS, the 'County of Ramsey and the Department of
Public Works has established a policy that requires cities
within its jurisdiction to participate in the cost of certain
improvements on County roads, and
WHEREAS, there is no State requirement that the cost
of these improvements be passed through to the City, and
WHEREAS, there is anticipated construction of a
bridge over 1-694 (a State road) at Lexington Avenue (a County
road), which bridge will include a connecting pathway, and
WHEREAS, the City of Arden Hills has been asked to
share the cost of this bridge/pathway, and
WHEREAS, the pathway is an important link, and the
City is told that neither the pathway nor the bridge will be
built if the costs are not paid in part by the municipalities;
NOW, THERE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council
requests the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners to reconsider
its policy of municipal sharing of the cost of County road
obligations, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, until such time as the
Ramsey County Board of Commissioners reviews and modifies its
sharing policy, the City of Arden Hills agrees to pay the sum
of $11,892.50x as its share of the construction costs and the
engineering cost of said bridge/pathway.
Passed by the Arden Hills City Council this 10th
day of March, 1986.
