A RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF ARDEN HILLS
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID AND AUTHORIZING
EXECUTION OF CONTRACT IN THE MATTER OF THE
FERNWOOD STREET WATER 10WER IMPROVEMENT OF 1993
WHEREAS pursuant to Resolution 93-37, competitive bids were solicited and received for the
Fernwood Street Water Tower improvement as set forth in the bid tabulation attached
hereto and incorporated herein by this reference; and
WHEREAS the lowest bid for Alternative 2, which includes the complete construction for structural
modifications and refurbishing of the water tower, removal of paint, and repainting on
the interior wet and dry surfaces and exterior surfuces (including all labor, material,
equipment, and incidentals described or inferred in the specifications or shown on
drawings), is within the City's budget for this project; and
WHEREAS the low bidder bid an additional $3,500 for painting a sign on the water tower if the
City Council decides to have the sign painted; and
WHEREAS the City Council has considered the amount of the bids and the responsibility of the
bidders and determined that Odland Protective Coatings is the lowest responsible bidder;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Arden Hills,
Minnesota:
1. The Mayor and City Administrator are authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the
City, such contract with Odland Protective Coatings as is approved by the City Attorney for
the completion of the Femwood Street Water Tower improvement according to the approved
plans and specifications designated in Resolution 93-37.
2. The City Administrator is authorized and directed to forthwith return to all bidders the deposits
made with their bids upon execution of the contract above specified.
